Everything was good with the exception of the air conditioner / fan unit. It just wasn't working and we didn't figure that out until midnight. The hotel staff did what they could to try to fix the problem, and it just wasn't something we could fix so late. I appreciated their effort. Breakfast was really amazing, and the room had a great view. Highly recommended, especially if you need parking. Bus comes frequently and is direct, takes only 10 minutes or so.

We asked for a lake view room upon reservation and when we arrived, we were upgraded to a suite with not only a lake view, but a balcony. The accommodations were not only spacious and comfortable, but the room was beautifully appointed with an antique desk and dresser, lovely chandeliers, roomy closets and a double sink bathroom. This is a wonderful historical property that has been recently renovated and is currently in great shape. The room and common areas are tastefully decorated with color and charm, and the fixtures are up to date and modern. It sits on a hillside above the town, but there is a dedicated elevator (furnicular) that leads directly from the street to the property. Spent five nights here in March 2022 and made it our base for exploring Switzerland. Could not be happier with it. It's a bit of a hike from old town Luzern, but that is not inordinate and the distance gives some space that wound up being welcome. Otherwise the facilities and staff were great -- excellent food and everything else. Highly recommended and would do it again in a heartbeat.
We were very pleased with our 2 night stay in Lucerne at the Cascada. The hotel is a convenient distance from the train station, an easy walk with luggage but far enough away that you can't hear trains. Reception was excellent and was able to get us into our room a couple hours before check-in time. They also were able to put us in a room towards the quiet back side of the building (little to no street noise.) Switzerland uses outlet plugs which are different from anywhere we've been in Europe....
The room was really spacious and had an awesome lake view. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. They give you a free bus pass to use during your stay. You get on right out front and it takes you to the city center or train station in about 15 minutes. Very easy and convenient. After a day of sightseeing it was nice to come back to our room, make some hot tea, and slip into a cozy robe and slippers. WOW I mean the views from this place cannot be beat. You absolutely MUST request a river facing room (you can see the beautiful snow capped mountains of Pilatus on a clear day). It is worth every penny. Additionally, your stay gets your a visitors pass with discounted rates on transport throughout the city. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind as well. We will DEFINITELY be coming back!
Hotel is beautiful from outside. Room was not big, but not too small like some in the old town. Switzerland has a great train system. Being right across from the Luzern main train station with buses and trains access to nearby scenery.
