Absolutely terrible couldnt stay here arrived at 930pm into a dirty room. Poo in the toilet, blood on the wall. Dirty sheets i asked if there was a clean room they said no so we had to leave and find a new motel. I would like a refund!

My bathroom ceiling was covered in mold. The pillow cases on one of the beds were filthy. The rooms all smelt damp, fusty and mouldy. The reception area for the hotel is actually next door in a neighbouring hotel which was inconvenient. The guy on reception was pleasant and helpful but when I told him I couldn’t stay in that room he didn’t immediately express any concern regarding the state of my room and did not ask to come and inspect the room. He took me back over to the hotel and showed me 3 other rooms I could choose from and only one of those was free of mould. This is definately the worst accomodation I have stayed at in NZ. The pictures look nice enough but the place is completely run down and disgusting.

Property is dated but very convenient for travellers who are coming or going from the airport. Bus shuttle every 20 minutes all day every day. If you need fancy accommodation spend more somewhere else but if you just need a place to stay and a ride to or from the airport this is a good option if you don’t pay too much

Old and musty

The VR Auckland Airport Hotel is very rundown and needs renovating. My room smelt very musty, however the bed was comfortable and the room clean. The hotel security was non-existent with side external doors left permanently open, even though a code was needed to get in the front door.

Love that it was close to the airport and convenient as in central to everything but the rooms are outdated. Dusty and old. Felt alil sketchy and unsafe at times cause the door to the side stays open. The place needs an upgrade sucha good location

It did not feel safe. I used a key to get into the place but there were three unlocked open doors to the outside. The people at the hotel next door run it and sent a guy over to check. He closed two of the doors and stated the third needed to be left open for people parking to be able to enter. This made the place cold also. This is a correctable situation and I would stay again if this was resolved.
