Amazing property! Everything was absolutely perfect. The owner, Virginia, and main host, Luis, were absolutely fabulous. The windows in front of the property give you prime access for bird watching from inside your hotel. We saw 2 tucans every mornings, relaxing by the trees. Can't say enough good things about this property.

The Hotel Villa Cayo is set in a beautiful pristine rainforest on a private hill. The views are spectacular as was the staff, especially Virginia and Luis. It’s a romantic get away and yet about 10 minutes drive from downtown San Ignacio. We highly recommend Hotel Villa Cayo!

We stayed in the rooftop honeymoon suite for 3 nights and it did not disappoint! The view was amazing and we loved all the sounds of nature and looking at all the stars at night. It was very private and we had the beautiful pool to ourselves while we were there. Virginia and Louis set up our ATM tour for us and it was the highlight of our trip. The property is beautiful and very well maintained. We would definitely recommend Villa Cayo!

Amazing stay.

Such an amazing stay! Very tidy and clean place, very comfortable, and really peaceful. The property is very quiet, and a 5 min drive into San Ignacio. I highly recommend booking your tours to ATM cave or Tikal with the staff. Made it so easy, and the tours can pick you up on site. The staff was so AMAZING. Very communicative, and helpful. Also if you order breakfast on site it is really well prepared!

Perfect Stay

We had the best stay at Villa Cayo! The room was spacious, clean, had a beautiful view, and tons of amenities. Virginia and Luis were excellent with communication! It was a perfect little getaway. We also arranged a transportation package through them which picked us up and dropped us off from Belize City and had a taxi take us in to town each evening. Oh! And we loved see the toucans outside our room!

Strangest bed I’ve ever “slept” in. Didn’t know beds could be so soft. Crazy soft so that a pillow hurts neck. Otherwise, a very high end villa but without a lobby or public place.

Villa Cayo - magical

Our stay at Villa Cayo exceeded expectations. We stayed in one of their separate guesthouses. Sitting on the comfy Adirondack chairs watching toucans eating fruit from the tree in front of our guesthouse was magical. The property faces west so watching the sunsets with a glass of wine in the evenings was great. The guesthouse was very comfortable and impeccably cleaned. The kitchen was well equipped and included some basic seasonings to make cooking convenient. They provided soap, shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom. The Villa is very close to San Ignacio, about 5 minutes by car. It was a great stay. Highly recommended. We absolutely look forward to staying here again.

Absolutely Perfect Stay at Villa Cayo Our stay at Villa Cayo was nothing short of perfect. The villa itself is stunning—immaculately clean, beautifully maintained, and surrounded by lush, vibrant nature that made every day feel like a dream. What truly made our stay unforgettable was our incredible host, Virginia. She welcomed us with such warmth and kindness that we immediately felt at home—like we were staying with family. Virginia is not only thoughtful and attentive to every need, but also a joy to be around. She took the time to educate us on the beautiful plants growing around the villa, sharing her knowledge with such enthusiasm and passion. Conversations with her were always fun and engaging, and her genuine care for her guests shone through in everything she did. We felt completely cared for and truly connected, which made our time at Villa Cayo all the more special. We can’t recommend this place highly enough. Despite the property being more recently constructed and maintained in excellent, clean condition, and staff being very helpful and friendly, our primary incentive for choosing this property over other options and paying premium rates was the promised picturesque views. Regrettably, upon arrival, we discovered that the actual view from our room did not align with the enticing images presented. Instead, we were situated in a bottom-floor villa with a less-than-expected perspective of a pool under construction—a detail not shared both in the listing and during the reservation process. This disparity between expectation and reality has been disappointing, and I believe it's crucial to address this discrepancy for the benefit of future guests.

We had the best time at Villa Cayo! The cabin kitchen is very well equipped and we had the most comfortable bed. We saw all kinds of birds, every morning, even toucans! The property works better for guests with a car, but they'll assist you with transfers, tours and even taxi cabs. Virginia, Ken, Luis and each one we met at the property were wonderful! They make you feel very welcome! Great place if you're looking for a restful vacation! We can't wait to return to San Ignacio and stay here again!! Thank you!!

This unique boutique property is private and a bird lovers paradise on the rooftop villa. Not close to amenities but with a few groceries the terrace kitchen was gr8, all utensils provided.

This property was beautiful, peaceful, safe and allows you to be one with nature. Virginia and Ken are excellent hosts who are very responsive. What you see in the picture is exactly what you expect to see in person and more. This is more so for couples but also a solo traveler like myself. You will enjoy taking a shower outside, but take one before night time as the creepy crawlers will accompany you. I had no issues with that as it is apart of nature. Virginia provided tips on tours, restaurants and things to do in the area. Ken and I had a good conversation which also made my trip worthwhile. I would definitely book this again. What a way to decompress, relax and unwind. It was very clean and I had roomn service daily each time I left the villa. Pots, pans, dishes, utensils and filtered water. Thanks again Virginia and Ken for the hospitality!
