GREAT HOTEL

We’ve visited this hotel several times. We love the location, the free parking, and we don’t believe there is a better cooked breakfast anywhere. The building is very old, and although the public areas are lovely, the rooms are showing their age a bit. However, the beds are great, the showers are powerful, and there’s lots of storage. The food and drink is quite expensive, but there’s lots of restaurants and pubs nearby.

The room was small but clean, very minimal facility’s. Bed was comfy and shower/bathroom were average. The free parking was great. The fact I had to choose what time I wanted my breakfast the next morning wasn’t great. Who knows what time they might want their breakfast! The choice of having it when you want (within breakfast hours) would be much more preferred, we missed out slot due to sleeping in so I can’t rate the food. Hotel is in a great spot. Not far from anywhere and if you’re in the car you leave it literally at the door! I would stay here again but would upgrade the room.

I stayed at the Palm hotel for a business weekend. The hotel was very clean. Good choice of options for evening meals. Breakfast options were excellent. The staff were attentive but not intrusive. Really good location only five minutes drive from the railway station and minutes to the venue I was attending.

Positives: good breakfast, nice staff and service, free parking, bed was comfortable Negatives: our room was quite dated, squeaky floor, no sockets on the sides of the bed. Bathroom with stained and ruined floor, a chipped tile, old squeaky bath tub. When we entered the room the windows were open and it was smelly like a fish and chips shop, they couldn't do anything apart from providing a freshener that didn't get rid of the odour. Ok for a night but rooms need to be updated! overall not sure I will be back
