Lovely old hotel full of character very close to the Hoe and within walking distance to the Barbican. Dogs welcome throughout the hotel although you have to take breakfast in the bar if accompanied by your dog. My dog was made very welcome and even had his own sausage for breakfast. Have stayed here before and plan to do so in the future. Thank you to the very friendly staff.

Friendly staff, nice hot cooked breakfast, each item of breakfast food chosen from a menu, coffee very luke warm unfortunately, hotel clean, one small incident while we stayed but receptionist sorted it out straight away with understanding and courteous. The porter could have been a little more courteous and a little less grumpy but this didn't apply to the rest of the staff, they were kind and helpful.

On entering the hotel from the limited car park through the scaffolding and into the rear of the hotel we thought it was going to be a let down but the room was large clean and very relaxing although dated.
