It was my first time staying at a Crowne Plaza hotel in Birmingham and I have to say that we were greeted like royalty by Davidson. His smile lit up the hotel. He was an anbs delight to be served by. He was pleasant, courteous, informative, helpful and even when explained to me about there being no fridge in the room, he did so with such grace. Every hotel should have an Davidson!! Overall, I was very pleased, My aunt who I booked the room for really enjoyed it. The beds are super comfy. She said she never sleeps at home and at the hotel she fell asleep and slept soundly, so that’s a testament to the beds. Fantastically comfortable.
The shower was refreshing, the toiletries smell divine and felt quite luxurious.
The net curtains looked a bit old (no longer white).
The proximity to the city centre is good. There is an EV charging station approx 2 mins walk away,
The room was clean, we didn’t have enough towels and robes and the extra ones were sent up without prompting by Davidson, then he called to ensure that we had actually received the items. I know it seems like a basic courtesy, in most hotels I’ve stayed (4&5*) hotels, it hasn’t happened !!
The only other thing I had an issue with was the fact that I wanted to purchase one of their bathrobes for a gift, but they didn’t have any and weren’t sure the process for getting one. But the manager came and this situation will be used as lessons learned for the hotel.
I would definitely recommend the hotel.
