Superb location and great service.

We enjoyed being in the heart of the town for a few days. The hotel was convenient for the harbour and eateries as well as the old town up the hill. The room had a balcony overlooking the harbour which we enjoyed for afternoon relaxation. It feels busy at times with the hubbub of the harbour and passing people but it wasn’t noisy. But for a lovely spot to watch or listen to the world go by, it was perfect. The Alte Post next door was wonderful for food and the ice cream parlour below was great for a pick me up. Staff at the hotel were excellent and so helpful. Beds were comfy. All in all a great stay. Minor gripe was lack of coffee facilities in the room. However, the breakfast buffet was immense! That set you up for the day in a gorgeous sister hotel along the road.

Meersburg and the hotel were something of a revelation to us. Only there for an overnight stay but will certainly be back. Our room was pleasant, clean, seemingly recently refurbished, and very well appointed / designed / set out, with guests’ convenience in mind. The hotel is directly on the lakeside, and our room looked out on to the ferry quay. Peaceful and beautiful. Parking is limited but we were offered a space just a couple of minutes walk away from the hotel - €15, which we thought was a bit steep. One other inconvenience was that breakfast is served in a sister hotel about 200 metres away, though a little electric shuttle is provided, if needed. This was more than compensated for, however, by the magnificent breakfast spread! A huge range of quality food and one of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve had.

Nice but things to be aware of.

Breakfast is not on site but at another hotel 5 min walk away. It is good though. No restaurant on site. Parking costs extra. Parking is not nearby and is a 10 minute walk away. Lake View room looks out along the lake shore to the south east, there is no view northwards at all. Rooms are small, bathroom even more so Reception shuts at 20:00 and with it the main door. After that you have to use a side door and take the stairs to the first floor before you can access the lift. Might be an issue for the less well abled when coming in after eating out in the evening. A nice place overall, but none of these things were mentioned when booking or on the website, you only get to discover this after booking or upon arrival.

Schon der erste Kontakt kurz vor Rezeptionsschluss war außergewöhnlich freundlich. Ich hatte gegen 19:50 Uhr angerufen, weil ich unsicher war, ob ich noch rechtzeitig buchen kann. Herr Haas, den ich zunächst für einen Mitarbeiter hielt, später aber erfuhr, dass er gemeinsam mit seiner Frau der Inhaber ist! hat sich sofort Zeit genommen und mir in Ruhe erklärt, dass er gleich schließt, aber gerne noch ein paar Minuten wartet, bis ich über Hotels.com buche. Die Buchung hat problemlos geklappt, und er hat sich sogar noch einmal telefonisch gemeldet, um das zu bestätigen. Durch das freundliche Gespräch haben wir dann sogar ein kostenloses Zimmer‑Upgrade bekommen – inklusive wunderschönem Meerblick. Das Zimmer war sauber, gemütlich und hatte alles, was man für eine entspannte Nacht braucht. Besonders beeindruckt hat mich der Service am Abend: Der Zugang über den Nacht‑Tresor hat bei uns nicht funktioniert. Nach einem kurzen Anruf bei der Notfallnummer war Herr Haas innerhalb von 10 Minuten persönlich vor Ort und hat uns die Schlüsselkarte manuell übergeben – freundlich, hilfsbereit und völlig unkompliziert. Fazit: Ein herzlich geführtes Familienhotel mit außergewöhnlichem Service, persönlicher Betreuung und traumhafter Lage direkt am See. Preis‑Leistung ist top, und der menschliche Umgang 😍😍😍😍
