And if you are a solo woman, DO NOT STAY HERE. First of all, the pool has no set hours as long as guests are buying drinks. The manager, Andrés, came to my door at 1 a.m. asking if the pool music was okay, even though I had already asked him until what time it was allowed and he told me 10:30 p.m. They ended up playing music until 3 a.m., and no one said anything because people were spending money at the bar—only to later find out that those people weren’t even staying on the property. He sits and drinks with the customers, especially when it’s a group of women. If you come with your family or partner, the treatment is completely different. There are no rules and no word.
Construction workers are constantly walking around the property or sitting by the pool, trying to talk to you or calling you to sit with them. As a solo woman, this is extremely uncomfortable, and the way they stare at you is disgusting. There are cockroaches in the tepees, and I saw mice near the beach area. The pool is not cleaned daily—some days it’s cloudy, some days it’s clean. The construction guys start working at 6 a.m., and they sleep by the pool. What a horrible experience when all you want is to relax and can’t.
The girls in the kitchen and at reception are very kind—thank you so much to Merlis and Amore for checking on me; they were always attentive and sweet. And if you’re ordering from the bar like I did during my five-day stay, make sure to keep everything noted
