Stayed at the Star Hotel for one night before boarding a cruise ship. It was a nice hotel in a great location.

10/10 Exceptional

Comfortable and quiet.

Great value for money. Great location. Quiet and comfortable night's sleep. Clearly some updating could be done, but I liked the character. I will definitely stay again

Character hotel

Good value, a little run down, but full of charecter, it is an old coaching inn after all. Friendly staff. Fine for an overnighter before a cruise.
William, 1-night trip

Quaint and Cozy

Classic UK hotel accommodations. Great breakfast and lovely property. If ever in the area again will definitely stay

Well recommend

Really lovely old building Has some quirks but the refurb is really nice. Room very comfortable and brilliant location. Feels like you are supporting keeping the building going.

We had a lovely overnight stay, breakfast was amazing
Jacqueline, 1-night trip

Older hotel good for a 1 night stay

Interesting older hotel. Fire doors every 4-5 rooms. Lots of stairs. There is an old rickety elevator if you are on floor 2 or higher. Bed is a ok, but could use a cushioned mattress pad. Ok for an overnight stay before a cruise, but I wouldn't want to stay longer than that! There are a lot of restaurants and eateries close by.

Front desk service was excellent. Good value for money, excellent location

4/10 Fair

Very basic and dated. Single glazed windows didn't shut properly allowing excessive outside noise into the room.
Michael, 1-night trip

Service was great but our beds were uncomfortable

The beds were really uncomfortable, we barely slept. The location is great, the staff is helpful, the breakfast is good, maybe we had the wrong bedroom with uncomfortable beds.
Susan, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

It was ok for a night, I wouldn't go on holiday

The room I received was not the poster bed in the advertising. The chair in the room had really seen better days. They did lend us a hairdryer when ask

One Night Pre Cruise Stay

We were there for a RC Pre Cruise 1 night stay. The hotel will keep your large cases, as the rooms are smaller and you won't have to get them to your rooms as there is a bit of walking involved to reach your room. I packed a small over night which worked nicely. The staff is lovely and helpful. No ac but we did not need it, the windows open. A very nice Pub next door. You will need a taxi if you are going to the cruise port. It is not within walking distance. We paid for breakfast at check in. It was nice to stay in a bit of history.
Karen, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

The skylight in the room was disgusting
Elizabeth, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

The hotel is in an excellent location equidistant between the bars and shopping centre such as O'Nells, Yates, etc and the bars and restaurants the other end on Oxford Street-that road is very vibrant and well worth a visit.
Alison, 2-night trip

2/10 Poor

Filty, run down, holes in walls, wobbly flpors, sunken ceilings, sunken floors, rude staff
