Convenient clean and comfortable. Just off Orchard Road between two metro stations, it’s in a great location. Staff in reception were friendly and efficient; room was clean and comfortable. Nice to be able to use the pool on the rooftop.

WORST HOTEL STAY OF MY LIFE!!

DO NOT STAY HERE! $450 per night for a disgusting, filthy room with soiled sheets with obvious stains from previous guests and mould growing on ceiling, window frames and walls. The window was painted shut so not ventilation either. We complained to management immediately on arrival in our room and they just shrugged their shoulders. Didn't even offer to change the sheets! Our very young baby became sick over night with trouble breathing so the next morning we asked for a refund of the second might so we could leave. Management refused and told us we could leave a bad review. Absolutely no care at all and no empathy. Hotels.com were also very disappointing. Promised to help with a refund due to misinformation and misleading photos but then said 'the hotel refused so there is nothing we can do'.

One Nights stay

After booking a nights stay at Hotel Chancellor i felt a bit aprihensive after reading some reviews. So here is my opinion. The hotel checking staff were lovley, friendly and helpful. Yes the hotel is a bit dated,, and she has a few battle scars for her age, but don't we all? 😁 The room was clean and comftable, Aircon worked excellent. The shower had GREAT preasure. Free Wifi works well. if you want a modern, renovated hotel, expect to pay more. Hotel Chancellor is all you need for the price you are paying.

Overall ok just need some maintenance for Room 816 maintenance list: - aircond is not cold eventhough adjusted to 16 and high - shower head is tilted, doesnt straighten up - light bulbs above bed needs fixing. 1 of it flashes throughout the night when the switch is off Room 818 - shower head is tilted, doesnt straighten up - no shower curtain so water splashed out wet - light bulb above bed and above TV needs fixing due to keep flashing when turn on

Would not recommend

Location is convenient with lots of shopping, food, and public transport options within walking distance. However, the hotel itself is quite disappointing. There was a weird stench in the room once I opened the door. I found a piece of hair on one of the pillowcases. I left my carry-on sized suitcase with the concierge during check-out and was given a tag to claim it later. When I arrived again in the evening, there was no one at the luggage counter, but my suitcase was left unattended in front of the counter. I helped myself to my suitcase, sat in the lobby for 10 minutes and no one even asked about it. I couldn't help but think that anyone could've walked in during the day and walked out with my suitcase. Needless to say, I'm quite disappointed with my experience at this hotel.

The two people I dealt with at check in were lovely but, I checked in, went out, had to re check in because they lost it. Elevator very rough, scared it would stop with me in it. Pool!! OMG!! Not relaxing at all. The air conditioning motors for every room on that side were four feet from the pool the entire length of it and so incredibly noisy I put my headphones on full and could still hear them. The rooms are not noise proof and the people of a certain nationality have no respect for anyone in the middle of the night. Also, pretty sure it’s in the “RED LIGHT DISTRICT” which they could have mentioned on the website. No wifi at the pool. Not that you’d hear anything as the aircon motors for all the rooms in that side are literally next to the pool. So noisy . Not relaxing at all. Tv won’t work properly, can get the few Chanel’s that are live and even then it’s only The News from Asian or American countries. Bath is tiny and hard to get in and out of unless fit. Very slippery. Almost slipped over. Who uses a bath when you’re away anyway. Shower is easier. Air-conditioner is good Hot water for the tea coffee is lukewarm. They spent good money on a hot water unit instead of electric jug and it doesn’t even work.
