Great venue for a little break

Room was very clean, well equipped and the use of the gym, pool, steam room and sauna were very pleasant additions. These were also well equipped. Great location too

Absolutely loved this hotel. I would give it 5 stars ⭐️ room overlooked the canal, excellent size, breakfast was delicious, lots of choice. The leisure facilities were spotless. Staff really friendly and location directly opposite the science museum in the hop on hop off bus sightseeing bus route!

we stayed here for the laughterama comedy festival at castlefield bowl and it was perfect. The hotel literally overlooks the bowl and there are so many of Manchesters best places to see, restaurants, bars etc within 10-15 minutes including the science and history museum across from the hotel. The room we stayed in was huge and super clean. The beds were extremely comfortable.

we were surprised how nice this place is and perfect for walking around the city centre ,we particularly enjoyed the setting and walked around the canal pathways in the evening , spoilt for choice of good restaurants. The building was very clean and well decorated and the staff seemed happy in their work, a pleasant contrast to some of the chain hotels we've stayed in.

Great value for money and gym!

Can’t fault the stay. Rooms are fairly basic, but perfectly acceptable for the price paid. Service was fantastic. Gym was as good as any paid-for brand I’ve used previously.

Would recommend!

Very helpful and friendly staff, could check in when wanted which was really helpful. Only downside is two single beds were pushed together, but the duvet provided was too small so we both had to sleep in the middle. Would recommend!

Great hotel in brilliant location

The hotel is is a great spot - perfect if you want to explore the canal basins, restaurants and attractions of Manchester. The room was large and spacious and we had a canal view. The staff were friendly and accommodating - we were travelling with our dog, which was welcomed. The bathroom was spotless as was the linen. The only draw back was a lack of aircon - it can get very hot inside the hotel bedroom. All in all I can highly recommend.

Castle field Hotel August 2023

Staff on reception were friendly and very professional. Swimming pool was too cold to go in so gave our towels back. We stayed 2nights and the room was not cleaned or serviced on Day 2.No refills of tea,coffee or milk etc Quite poor for such a lovely hotel.

very ran down and basic, definitely not a 3 star hotel! mattresses very uncomfortable, springs poking out, mould in the bathroom, cracked tiles. staff were friendly and kind but gave me a different room than the one booked (had booked tiver view), but honestly doubt that the mattress would have been of better quality. on the positive, location was excellent, and glad that the proceeds are going to YMCA.
