We were visiting relatives in the area so only needed a bed and a shower, the Lamb inn gave us both with a friendly staff and a great breakfast!

Disasterous stay, owners dog attacked ours twice in the first hour, bathroom had shower gel instead of soap. A bunch of stuff in the room was broken.
We couldn't have been made to feel more unwelcome.

The best bit about the stay was an excellent full English breakfast with superb scrambled eggs - that part gets 5 stars the rest was average other than good staff.

Very worn bathroom. Shower glass not been cleaned for some time. When boiling the kettle inside could have been descaled as not done I some time and all the cartons of milk were dated March, so they all had to go in the bin

Redeemed themselves by an excellent breakfast and pleasant atmosphere. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Best part! Previously unhappy about noise levels - live music till 11.15, other music till 11.30.

Nothing like the photos!
The booking we made on hotels.com said check in at 1pm. On arrival, just after 1, the place looked closed with no obvious way of gaining entry or contacting the owners. The pictures bare no resemblance to the state of the pub. All the flowers are dead and the exterior is covered on cobwebs.
I asked next door at at the restaurant how we might gain entry and a rather aggressive woman escorted me back to the Lamb inn and banged loudly on the door shouting at the staff inside! Was incredibly intimidating! A very young girl answered the door and said check in was 3pm.
We returned after 3pm and were escorted up a filthy fore escape past a huge dead plant to the rooms. All of which added to the trepidation of what the room was going to be like. In fact, the room inside was OK. Clean sheets and towels. No soap or anything like that but despite the wonky single bed (there were 2 and we only have 1 child so fortunately didn’t need to use that bed) the room was adequate.
All in all, it was very overpriced for the stay, we were on a roadtrip so only did one night there but it was the worst value place we stayed. I would not recommend it.

Old Coaching Inn
This is a pub, my room was above the courtyard which was heavily used and therefore noisy. Breakfast was very good, Becky did a excellent job.
