Reasonable place to stay in central Cambridge
Better than I thought it would be; a rather old hotel in need of a bit of a facelift, but clean with helpful staff and well-located; included breakfast and restaurant available, both good.

Hotel Classico in the heart of Cambridge
We stayed one night at this beautiful, very classic hotel, perfect location for exploring downtown Cambridge. Parking at the hotel was cheap compared to other hotels. They gave us the option to leave our car in their parking lot once we had checked out. The continental breakfast was good ham and bread.

Great location but hazardous stairs throughout.
The hotel is very old and has accessibility problems which make it hazardous in places. There is no lift and the stairs are worn carpet, uneven and not fully hand railed.
The plus to the hotel is its fabulous location and views.
My room smelt of drains which wasn’t great.

One night stay.
Hotel is in a lovely position we had a double single room looking out over the park, it may be a little noisy for some but we enjoyed the view. Room was abit tied looking and was dirty around edges, could have done with a deep clean, lots to point out if you wanted to be fussy, but we only stayed the one night. Breakfast was continental hot alternative was extra to pay.

Cambridge hotel with parking
Sadly few staff at check in.
The hotel is a conversion from a row of separate houses with a central corridor to access bedrooms, with many steep staircases, no lifts available. So carried luggage up the staircases.
The rooms on the 3rd floor are very small and in the hot weather not well ventilated. We needed to open the only window to the emergency staircase to allow some ventilation at night in a warm summer visit.
No fans or airconditioning available, it is an old building. Staff only seen at front desk and breakfast and limited in number.
The dining breakfast conservatory area is very pleasant but no lunch or tea service available. Few staff to clear tables in the conservatory at breakfast
Parking is plentiful but pricey, and the location is excellent

Lovely and good value.
Lovely and good value. I had a single room with en suite, both very small but adequate, and a lovely view over the river and park. Easy regular bus into centre of you don't want to walk.

Looks nice from the outside, inside it definitely has 'Fawlty Towers' vibes. Be prepared to be woken up by guests slamming doors and walking up creaky stairs. Very handy for the Cambridge Half marathon though.
