There is basic.. and there is Cocked Hat basic. No frills room, glad we only stayed one night. Restaurant awful, clearly short staffed with 45 mins wait for food. Ordered medium rare steak and it came out very well done.. couldn't be bothered to send back and wait again for 45 mins. Mentioned to the waitress, wasn't bothered in the slightest. Best thing about it was the Inches Apple Cider - but then they only poured that, hard to get that wrong. Other dishes we had were deep fried and dripping with fat - not very appetising. Made the decision there and then not to have breakfast based on the quality of dinner and the service.. and went across the road to Costa instead for a croissant and coffee!

Everything about my stay was perfect i couldnt fault anything at all.All the staff were very friendly and accomodating my room was excellent the food was amazing and well presented and it was ery good value for money..Would i stay again when im visiting family and friends absolutely i would and each time i make the journey from Torquay in Devon..Excellent 5 star.
