Exceptional value, novel family accommodation. Fun theming. My Children had a fabulous time. I wouldn’t recommend if travelling without kids- this is for families. A bit noisy in the evening. Food offerings on site are pretty naff but reasonably priced.

The bed was comfy, this time the shower worked. But the kettle was in a disgusting state, i don't think it's been inspected since last summer, on a minor issue, no heavy pillows.

I stayed here and the floor was dirty so we had to walk around in our shoes which was hard being with a 1 year old running around also the shower did not heat up at once so the water was freeezing cold

A absolute dump

Place is a Dump, I was horrified to see the room, everything real dated & not clean . Basically you live in a garden shed. Would be upset if I paid £20 for this place, never mind paying £50 plus.

I liked were I stayed but the whole time I was there it had absolutely nothing to do u either stayed in your room or leave to go somewhere else for the kids the receptionist was a terrible person but there was a lovely manager room was very clean but park was completely dead maby the time of year but there was people still staying here and children with nothing to do and everything was closed

Upgraded

Reception team were very friendly. I was upgraded from my booking to a lodge on the camp site ( ironically where I initially went to) which turned out to be a spacious caravan. Some small defects were reported regarding the cooker and the cleaning team should check before they finish as it could be better. Good value for money. The guy on the campsite gate deserves a special mention for helpfulness and cheerfulness. Good location and a great shower

Staff were friendly and efficient at check in and we were positively surprised to have evening activities but only took part in the marshmallow toasting over a fire pit due to time constraints with dinner. Staff organising the toasting were friendly. The accommodation was poor (we stayed in the smaller cabin up to 4pax so 1 room with bunk bed over the double bed + ensuite shower/toilet). Old, stained, very soft mattress. No mattress protector in use and found a couple of spiders in the bedding on arrival. Carpet floor was in a bad condition, dirty and stained. Bedside table and lamp were dusty and plug socket not working properly. There was a mini fridge in the room but it was too noisy. The shower room with toilet had a bad sewage smell and was quite dated and sealants were black and dirty. We therefore didn't use the shower. The sink was the tiniest one ever and was uniquely situated on top of the toilet tank which made brushing your teeth awkward as you had to either lean over (if tall enough) or step on the toilet lid to lean over and spit out toothpaste in the sink. The kettle wouldn't fit under the tap due to the small size. The accommodation was a shame as the concept of the cabin was good and my son enjoyed the bunk bed ladder but the whole room needs to be completely gutted and renovated. There were other accommodation types but didn't see inside.

The property and amenities are reasonably good. The staff are terrible. Firstly they gave me a cottage which was not my reserve. Next when I came back to collect a property i left they blindly said they no property was founded. When i insisted that they should do thorough researching they found the property.

Manager doesn't care about guests

The cottage was advertised as being 66m2, but when we got the room it was not more than 20m2. The manager of the place didn't care at all.

Fun and quirky. Just needs a bit more love.

Quirky fun place to stay for a night. I wish we had known it was solely self catering as we would have come a bit more prepared. Hotels.com pictures show of a continental breakfast that we assumed would be in the room but it doesn’t exist and we were told on arrival that there’s nowhere locally to get breakfast either so we had to do a late night jaunt to find some bread and butter to make toast in the morning. It’s a shame so many of the facilities were not in use as it didn’t give us a reason to hang around the next day. The feel and decor of the place was lovely. The communal facilities just seemed a bit sad and unloved which was such a shame as this could and should be a fantastic place for families.

I rarely leave negative reviews but our confirmation booking said mobile home and we got shoved in a safari tent with floors so sticky I wouldn't let the kids take their shoes off. The bed mattress was so old I could feel every spring in my back in every position I tried. We were expecting cooking facilities but all we got was a toaster and microwave with no cutlery or crockery. Reception managed to scrounge up a couple of bowls and wooden forks for us but it wasn't what we had planned with four hungry and tired kids to feed at the end of a long journey. The place felt very run down and in need of some proper investment. And I'm actually convinced they only had one trolley for the bags as they seemed more concerned with it's whereabouts than my issues when I went to speak to someone.

Good place, let down by maintenance

Great concept for accommodation, just let down by poor maintenance. Our lodge had rubbish left in drawers, one of the electrical sockets had been plugged up by something which shouldn’t have been there, and one of the window handles came off completely so we had to ask for help to secure it overnight. We didn’t realise the radiator had been left on full blast, not fun in 30 plus degree weather! There was a burn hole in the director style chair, the roller blind in the kitchen had no way of opening and shutting and there were tea making facilities minus a teaspoon! It’s a shame as we enjoyed our stay overall but there really needs to be some time and money invested in repairing issues in the lodges.

The idea and feature was a great idea and the park photos were quiet good. The inside was smaller than we expected. With 2 adults and a 12 year old and a 11 year old there was no room for us all to try to move about together. The shower was good but the little sink over the back of the toilet was hard work. The side under the bunk beds was dark. The kettle boiled and the steam just covers the TV/electrics. The idea of a horseshoe where you prep tea eat is dangerous. My partner hit the back of her head as she stood up. One of the bunk bed mattress was very poor. He told be he was uncomfortable and he is a slight built lad. The quilts were poor quality but manageable for 1 night. Where the bunk beds are there was a good reading light at each end and a socket with USB ports. There was a constant wet patch by the double bed and the cabin smelt really badly of cat urine.

Review based on owns experience.

Visited with family to see the land of lights. Extremely disappointed with the standard of the accommodation. We stayed in a Safari lodge. The decor and style was very nice. Beds however are terribly uncomfortable. Even worst was the poor standardard of cleaning. The first lodge given had a brown item (??) on the floor in the room with bunk beds. Concerned with the lack of hygiene, I asked for a different lodge. I was then given a second lodge with food crumbs over the kitchen table and a broken waste bin that would not close. Its bad enough the standard of accommodation was below expectations. To top it off the customer service matched that of the accommodation, poor. When raising my concern about the first lodge. The response I got was, "we've been closed". This is not an acceptable. If your selling accommodation time then your very much open. When raising the issue about the standard of the second lodge provided the attitude was very much of the same. Its a shame when you cone across location that offer quirky experience stays, but the standards and service behind lacks in the most basic sense.

Great value for money

Overall an excellent stay for value for money. Reception was very friendly and easy to check-in. Restaurant staff were unfortunately poor & they only have 1 till for the whole restaurant to order food & drink. No table service so it was long queues if you wanted anything. Food was probably 1 grade under a Wetherspoons for comparison. However, kids loved it & the lodge was great fun. I’d defo return. Disco for the kids was great & you can have a beer while they dance etc…

Great little find. it was lovely to wake up and sit with a cuppa and see baby ducks, swans and squirrels. Peaceful, clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful. Didn't try any of the facilities available as it was a one night pitstop but will be returning soon to try them out.
