Great location, funky hotel. Only issue was there was no in-room WIFI, apparently it was having issues. A bit annoying as I didn't have a UK data sim-card. I stayed here for Eurovision and it was a great location, very well organised and friendly staff. Clean and modern.

Quirky hotel but needs modernising in areas

Hotel entrance was very colourful and attractive, reception staff are very friendly. The remaining parts of the hotel need some modernising. Our room looked very tired and needed modernising. The jet tub was lovely but maintenance had to be called as the temperature tap was faulty. Overall it was a lovely stay, the location was perfect and i would stay hear again

Almost perfect

Very fancy and great value for money. Handy location in the city centre. Room was spacious and clean and the beds were huge. The jacuzzi bath in the room was also amazing *however* it was quite noisy when being filled (we got woken up at 3am by the same awful noise in the pipes when the room beside us used theirs after a night out, which was pretty annoying). There are some interesting design choices including a fish-eye mirror in the bathroom that I didn’t really understand but it’s mostly perfect otherwise.

The hotel was clean comfortable and central for everything we needed. However on arrival the reception staff were quite rude non helpful. The deposit that was taken for the room was £50 per person and I was informed it can take up to 5/10 working days to return and the photoID was a mess up too. They really need to inform guests prior to arrival.

Had an enjoyable stay.. only two comments to be made. The first was on check in. The couple who I had booked a room for along with our own room didn’t have ID although I did. The young blonde girl on reception was very unhelpful and quite sullen. It was resolved in the end but not by her. The second was the water temperature in the room was too hot and we couldn’t regulate it as the tap was broken.

Not happy with cleanliness of room the toilet was soiled on arrival had to call reception twice to come and clean. Open rafters in roof above bath which carried noise all night. When attending hotel it states need to pay £50pp deposit however can only use one bank card.

Could be better.

The building was nice and good location to the centre but rooms was plain and windows was all handles removed so unable to open. Bathroom doors was tired and dinted. Tv didn’t work. Had sereral problems with room keys not working and friend of ours was give a room that someone was still using. Could have been embarrassing but they was out when our friend walk in the room.

Staff were amazing

The 1st day we arrived at the shankley hotel we were greeted straight away. Staff were very welcoming. Got to our room noticed lots of burn marks on the carpet and room was in need of a refurbishment.The carpet was wet but assumed this had been carpet cleaned. Reported this to reception and the receptionist was going to send up the house keeper but we thought this had already been done, so not to worry. The following day I could smell urine on the carpet. Reported this immediately and we were upgraded. The lady behind reception was brilliant and couldn't apologise enough. The room we were moved to was beautiful. Although was still modified that we were in a room where someone had urinated on the carpet right next to the bed, left feeling let down as this was a present for my mums 70th birthday.
