Casa Ambar was a really great hotel. The hotel is centrally located for the restaurants and clubs near the beach. The staff were very nice, breakfast delicious, and my room was large. The only down side is that this hotel is on the jungle side rather than beach side of the road. I would happily stay here again.

This hotel is located central in the hotel Zone walkable to all the good restos and beach clubs! Although wifi wasnt always the stongest Liz and Aiden made up for it they were extremely welcoming and accomodating inlucding liz who cleans always with a smile on their face and addressing me by name! Nice little place tucked in the hotel zone..in a great location.. Nice service from the from desk lady.. Very helpful. An Eco friendly place that uses solar power during the day. AC turns on 9pm-5am...never been to a place that restricts..but I understood the concept.. Nice spot..if they get the ac running all the time will def be back!

The staff was very friendly. I especially want to say thanks to Gonzalo. He was so helpful in getting us from Cozumel to the hotel. He provided the information for taxi and for the ferry. The hotel is in the perfect spot for shopping, dining and having fun. The hotel kept having issues with their power so it kept going out even during the night and it was hot. Having the pool and beach at their sister property was great. It was an easy 20 minute walk.

Solo female traveler loved my stay

I had a lovely stay at Casa Ambar. I was in town as a solo female traveler for a wedding and felt safe there. Decor was cute and I had a huge balcony. Every morning I walked over to the Good Morning Coffee next door for breakfast and iced coffees. Clean as well. Could hear club music at night but it didn’t play late. Also you can’t run the AC during the day but can at night. No direct beach access or pool though so it helped that I had friends staying nearby with both.

This boutique hotel is really lovely, decorated like in souther Spain. My room has a very tall ceiling and a big balcony. The shower is probably the biggest I’ve ever seen in this area of Tulum (I changed hotels 4 times in 2 weeks as everywhere was sold out). The bed and pillows are very comfy. The drawback is there is no fridge in the room (there is one in the public kitchen where you can cook). The staff is very friendly and ready to help. Beach towels are provided but there is no free access to the beach (there is a campground hotel right in front where you can pay 200 pesos to go to the beach, other beach clubs require a minimum spend). The hotel is in the epicentre of Tulum’s clubbing scene. Be ready to hear some music day and night, not very loud but the clubs are all nearby.

Casa Ambar provided such a unique experience for my stay in Tulum which enhanced my trip positively. I have never stayed in a hotel quite like this but would absolutely return. I woke up each morning feeling one with nature through the windows looking into the jungle and wildlife right before my eyes. The space is so peaceful, however conveniently located in the heart of Tulum. I was walking distance from the beach, amazing restaurants, shops and nightlife while having privacy and a quiet nights sleep. The staff were always around the premise and the girls were prompt to keep the rooms clean each day. Can’t wait to come back!

Such a cute little space. Found some interesting creatures in the room but we sort of expected that being where it is. Other than that, we loved the space, location, the wonderful workers and the outdoor kitchen. It does get quite loud from the club across so when you go, expect that but this has nothing to do with the hotel. Would definitely go back! (And buy better ear plugs) 😅

great experience. room was very clean and quiet, except for the local wildlife. it's beautiful traditional architecture with a great courtyard. *air conditioning worked! multiple good food varieties in close proximity. the hotel is located in a shopping district i was out walking the streets around midnight and felt perfectly safe. Wonderful location and beautiful place!

My boyfriend and I booked this place on a whim after staying in Tulum Pueblo for 3 days and wanting to switch it up to be a bit closer to the beach. It was lovely and in the perfect location! We were so close to our favorite spots: Hartwood, Gitano and La Zebra. Our room had all of the amenities and was very comfortable and roomy. We would definitely book this place again. Great price, great wifi and the breakfast looked lovely but we were too lazy to wake up in time. ;)
