The staff was really nice and understanding, even though our japanese level wasn't wonderful. The baths are clean and you might book your slots for each of the private bath in the planning. You can go to the public bath related to your gender any time. The dinner was so exhilarating and a wonderful insight of the japanese culture and gastronomy as for the breakfast. Thank you very much !. However it might be uneasy for people in wheelchairs to access to this Ryokan.

This hotel was absolutely amazing. Our meals were delicious and they were able to cater to a vegetarian diet. The hosts were also very gracious and helped us with how to navigate to our train stop the next morning and even helped with repairing a wheel that had fallen off my suitcase earlier in the trip. We had a truly memorable stay here. Beautiful setting and all very serene. Akiko san was our host for our visit, and she was fantastic at introducing some of the customs and etiquette associated with staying in a traditional Ryokan. I'd recommend that anyone considering this looks up the rules and etiquette for Ryokan stays first before booking. It's not for everyone. But if you're trying to immerse yourself in the culture of Japan, I think this is a must.

Amazing traditional ryokan

We didn't want a big modern resort but a traditional Japanese ryokan and we loved the stay here. The kaiseki meals and services were amazing! We stayed at Sakura 5 and it was very spacious for a family of 4. The building is showing its age but that's part of the historic charm. Highly recommended for an authentic Japanese ryokan experience.
