The property is beautifully maintained & perserved. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, & responsive. They supplied alot of opportunities for activities in the area & with discounts. We had our own car & was able to enjoy things outside of the hotel but they are able to fully accommodate those who did not have access.

Very convenient location, staff was superb and the food was excellent. Hiking was available with a well made Trail. I will definitely be back again.

The lodge was seclusive but had all the basic amenities that you would need. We loved that we were in a jungle environment and woke up with nature everyday. The staff were very helful and friendly and made our stay welcoming. Fiona's Cafe had amazing food for breakfast and dinner, with reasonable prices. We enjoyed our stay very much!

We had a really nice stay at Maya Mountain Lodge! The grounds are absolutely beautiful with so many plants, and the pool was much needed after being out exploring in the heat all day. Fiona’s Cafe had good food at reasonable prices. The staff was very friendly and helped us book taxis to and from town. Would recommend if you’re looking for a quiet place to stay in nature, but not too far from town!

Quiet Gem with Room for Improvement

Here's my 4-star review of Maya Mountain Lodge in San Ignacio, Belize: I'm torn 'cause the spot's got prime location vibes – super quiet and close to nature. But, cleanliness was a bit off; sheets weren't exactly fresh-smelling, which threw off the whole experience. Plus, kitchen service was shut down, and that wasn't mentioned upfront in the listing. If they're gonna fix those kinks, this place could easily hit 5 stars. For now, it's solid 4 stars if you're looking for peace and don't mind some trade-offs. 😐
Marijo, 3-night trip

Property is idealy located next to Santa Elena and San Ignacio for easy access to all shopping and business needs. I do believe the pool area needs an upgrade, it's fine but time for a re- decking and more modern pool.

Overall nice hotel and would stay again. The beds aren’t that great and shower head was broken but it was a fair price and nice location.

Beautiful property, responsive, friendly staff and we loved our little cottage! Kitchen was perfect! We will definitely come again!

10/10 Exceptional

Great place. My only recommendation is to have a shuttle to town so those without private vehicles can more freely go back and forth to town.

The staff are what makes this place excellent. They are attentive and caring. The folks in the restaurant are welcoming and make delicious food each night. It was a pleasure to stay here.

Peaceful little cabin in the jungle. There was an option for breakfast and dinner. There was a trail around the property, which was a nice little 25 minute hike in the jungle. Staff were friendly.

Loved it!

The front desk was extra helpful in arranging transportation to outings and to the airport. They are very service oriented. The lodge is definitely a unique place of cabins in a jungle atmosphere with beautiful plants, but close to town. The 5 of us stayed in a 3BR family cabin. Two of us took advantage of having massages in their cute little spa, which was great. We ate dinner and most breakfasts at their little restaurant. Very good food.
Laurie, 4-night trip

From check in to check out the staff could not have been more welcoming. The cabin was spotless and everyday was kept that way. The grounds are so well maintained with signs everywhere to let you know what tree, plant or fruit is growing. Nature trails also add to the stay. A great place to stay in San Ignacio

A perfect getaway from our city life. The staff was so friendly and helpful with all our needs special shout-out to Levi- fabulous customer service. Doscio and Francilla made delicious breakfast and dinner. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. Beautiful trail on property. Highly recommend.

Safe and secure.

Lodge was great. Very well kept and friendly staff A bit difficult to find as there is a sign by road but no lighting. We were in Chachalaca bungelo and lots of steps and no hand rail. Not the greatest for an older couple like us. There is dining on site and it was very good but a limited menu..

Great Service

If you stay here, have then arrange your tours. I used another service that wouldn't pick me up at the hotel. However, they called and got them changed for me. They provided excellent service. The hotel is outside of town so if you are looking for a quiet place located in the trees then I would highly recommend it.
Aaron, 3-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

This is a centrally located property that feels very much like it is miles away from civilization. You can hear cars occasionally but the thatched cabins and larger parties can accommodate any size of party. The staff is very helpful in suggesting and arranging tours in the area in which there are many options. Their tour prices also seem to be the most reasonable in the area. The couple who prepares food is precious and while the menu is somewhat the same from night to night, it is delicious. For our family, the larger Peace Apartment was great since it had 4 beds and two separate rooms with a large kitchen and separate sitting area. Good value and great staff make this highly recommended.

10/10 Exceptional

I stayed here for two nights in April 2023. You should have a car if you stay here because it's a little bit of a walk (30 mins?) from the downtown area of San Ignacio. The property itself is like a jungle oasis. They have a nice restaurant, a spa, a pool, and some hiking trails. I appreciate that they take such pride in taking care of all the plants on the property. The people who run this are very nice, very helpful, and very attenative. The cabins are very cute and roomy. They have everything you need including a complete kitchenette. I like all the flowers they leave around your room. They gave me more than enough pillows and towels. I highly reccommend this place!!
Jennifer, 3-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Absolutely LOVED our stay here. The apartment cabin we rented was totally comfortable and well equipped with anything we could need. It was great having a little kitchen to use during our stay, and the porch & hammock were very relaxing. The property is so lush & beautiful with all kinds of flowering & fruit trees (free mangoes dropping daily!), & beautiful (quite chatty) birds everywhere. We were visited by hummingbirds every morning porch-side. The pool was clean and refreshing amid the high temps during the time we visited. Their hiking trail was perfect for a morning route. We only ate at the onsite cafe once, but it was delicious! The chef & his wife were so friendly. The star of this place is definitely the host who resides there, Levi. He went out of his way to help us get our bearings with transportation (incl bus & taxis), plan/arrange activities, suggest nearby restaurants, & even picked us ripe coconuts when my husband said he wanted to try one! I was really happy here and would love to return again before long. thank you!

There are many things to like about Maya Mountain. Everyone that works there is extremely kind, responsive and helpful. The rooms are old but spacious, clean and bug free. Set just outside of San Ignacio, all the amazing activities present in the area are very close. Xunantunich, Cahal Peche, Barton Creek, ATM Cave, Oxmul Coffee Farm, 2 Butterfly farms, Rio Frio, The Market in San Ignacio, iguana and bird sanctuaries. "Huts" located in the jungle with a modest but very clean and comfortable pool. We were treated like family. Kudos to Levi the manager. The onsite restaurant, Tios Mayan Restaurant, is very special. This husband and wife team are really great. They went way out of there way to take care of us. Ask about things they can offer that are not on the menu. Ok, the queen size bed is smaller than I like so I have to mention that. Internet, AC, hot water, maid service are all great. Cannot think of a place we've stayed where we were treated better.

Loved my stay here, its cool lil spot tucked away in the jungle. Really cozy rooms and nice on-site restaurant where you can grab breakfast in the mornings and dinner after long day of exploring. Wonderful staff!
