Highlights include the magical and romantic Lantern Room restaurant on the fourth floor, complete with a cozy wood-burning fireplace, and the stunning glass-walled lobby with a massive fireplace overlooking the ocean. The modern bar and the unique self-service wine machine—where you can pour one or two glasses daily as part of the resort fee—add a fun and upscale touch. The nightly “marshmallow box” treat is a 10/10, especially thanks to the high-quality chocolate. Dining at the Lantern Room (breakfast and dinner at additional cost) is a must, especially for the breads and pastries sourced from a well-known local bakery in downtown Monterey. The beachfront rooms are worth it—especially on upper floors for safety and views. The experience strongly echoes a cruise vibe: endless ocean views, the soothing sound of waves, and a long stretch of beach perfect for walks. It’s easy to spend days without leaving the property, fully unplugging and and resetting mentally. Amenities are a solid 10 out of 10"

"Would highly recommend staying here. The nice receptionist upgraded our room for free and all of the staff is very nice. The ocean view is beautiful. We had breakfast at the restaurant which was so delicious. The vanilla latte and Belgium waffle were a 10/10. "

"For a motel, I thought it was an excellent choice.. I liked my room and the services and amenities provided were great!! I did not use the pool, but I might do that on future visits. For someone that does not drive, thr Stargazer Hotel conveniently located to Downtown Monterey, the Del Monte Shopping center, and it's a great spot to stay at if you want to take public transportation to Carmel. I'll definitely return, maybe later this year or next year!!"
