"Wonderful location in the New Town, quiet part of the city, lovely character building . Plenty of nice bars and restaurants nearby. Short walk to the more touristy spots. Staff were very helpful with any requests. Rooms were cosy."

"Lovely apartment on a wonderful local street. Not in the touristy area, which we loved, but some might find it too out-of-the-way. Walking to Stockbridge was wonderful, but New Town was 20 minutes uphill. Cabs/Uber were very tough to get, but that seemed a citywide issue. "

"Lovely homely hotel in a beautiful period property, very comfortable! Close to plenty of shops, cafés and restaurants, and not forgetting The Canny Man's next door, which is a cracky pub with lots of character. There are loads of buses in and out of the centre, or to Leith if you wish to explore there too, so this is a great neighbourhood to stay in the city. We highly recommend this place, and we're hoping to return again in the not-so-distant future."

"We had a lovely stay at The Scholar. The hotel room was super spacious, I really loved the dressing table area! Everything was in pristine condition. The staff were super friendly and helpful, one lady even recommended us things to do in Edinburgh which we were grateful for. It was about a 20-30 minute walk from the city centre and we found lots of nice cafes to eat at and shops along the way. Overall we would definitely come back and next time I would like to try the restaurant either for...

"A well-equipped hotel in a quiet location. Historic architecture. Comfortable and clean. The room has everything you'll need for a few days. The floors are carpeted. They also provide slippers, which many hotels don't offer. There was a kettle and tea and coffee as gift. It's within walking distance of central locations. There's also a large park in front. Easy check-in and check-out. We stayed for four nights and I think everything was fine."

"Was a hidden gemstone, with history to the site. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The kids loved the fire being lit in the bar area. Will definitely be staying here again the the near future for sure"
