"Look, it's a ~$125/night hotel. No expectations of luxury, and I was barely there 8 hours. but...
-the room heater seemed to have no user-settable controls. There were buttons, but no temperature readout, and no apparent response to changing settings. It wasn't hugely too cold, but I would have upped it by a couple degrees if I could.
-The water in the sink/shower never got above lukewarm. Chilly way to start the day in the cold snap Anchorage was in when I stayed.
-No shampoo in the room.
Staff were helpful and pleasant! Check-in/out was a breeze. Looked like the bathrooms had recently been renovated. I might even stay again in a similar situation."
"The fridge in the first room I checked into did not work. When I requested a working fridge I was told that I had to change rooms and first needed to take everything out of the first room and return to the front desk for a different keycard. The cleaning people should check to make sure everything works before. This was a big inconvenience after a long flight that was delayed. Also, housekeeping knocked on my door even though I had provided a check out time. "
"Pike’s was a good base for our aurora tours. Staff was really good. Price was reasonable. Breakfast was OK, could be better. Facility was very comfortable with plenty of places to play cards or sit with family/friends. We would definitely stay here again."
