"Even though this hotel was out of our way, we booked specifically because of the waterpark. We put other plans on hold Friday evening so the kids can have a swim night. The water in the pool was freezing. Someone had to come out and fix it as it was unbearable. It would take hours for the pool to warm up after the maintenance was done and we had to check out the next day. The overall
Vibe at the hotel was not the same as two years ago when we last visited. Front desk was not as pleasant or welcoming when checking in. "
"Great location near the ski bus and all the downtown restaurants. Well appointed rooms. Good breakfast place in the hotel- fast enough to catch the 745 Louise bus. Hot tub and heated pool outside is nice to relax in. "
"The chairs and sofa were old, hard and very uncomfortable!
Although staff said the pillows were new, they were also hard and uncomfortable.
No furniture on the patio."
"I have been in banff over 100 times this is my first time in this hotel waw by far one of the best hotel my kids love this place big room everything was perfect."
"When we first entered our room, we noticed all the stains on the wall and couch but weren’t too bothered due to the price. Then we went to the bedroom and noticed blood stains down the side of the bed and the bathroom looked like it hadn’t even been cleaned since the last guest stayed there. We asked the manger if we could change rooms which they agreed and the second room we had was better. No tv in the bedroom, no windows in the bedroom, hair in the bed and the beds are not queens, they are more like doubles. The staff was helpful with moving us but we would not stay here again."
"We stayed at the Otter Hotel in mid April. Excellent stay at The Otter hotel! The sauna and hot tubs on the roof were a fantastic way to wind down at the end of the day. Hotel was stunning and the staff was amazing. Parking garage onsite was wonderful. The hotel stay came with bus passes to get around town which was very helpful. Staff had great recommendations and accommodations as well. Upon arrival you could puck different coffee or tea to bring to your room to use the pour over that was in room. Wonderful experience, would stay again!"
"We stayed only 1 night and did not use the facilities or the breakfast bar.
While the room was just fine for its cleanliness, etc., the neighbouring room had a dog that barked nonstop from 10:30 pm to 11:45 pm. I would have thought rooms that allow pets would not be right beside rooms that do not.
For non smokers such as ourselves, it is unfortunate that the front entrance has a strong lingering smoky smell.
