“Exceeded expectations- which were high! This beautifully renovated historic library is perfectly presented in every way. We stayed in the director's room which was tucked away on the lower level. It was so cozy- just how you may imagine sleeping overnight in a library should feel! Everything is very thoughtfully and intentionally finished. We would have been happy spending the entire stay in the room, but did also venture up to the rooftop for evening cocktails by the fire and morning coffee……
“The room was extremely clean and updated. The WiFi worked great on our phone and tablets, and we were able to login to our streaming services on the TV. The staff was friendly, and the hotel was quiet. I especially liked the 11am check-out time as I didn’t have to rush to pack and get myself and 2 small children ready for the day. The hotel is also located just 15 minutes from St Joseph/Silver Beach.”
“What a find! We just happened upon this gem through Hotel.com, and have to say it is absolutely the most charming vintage motel we've ever found on our meanderings through Michigan over many years. We like to stay in "mom and pop" places that reflect something of the area's history, and the Warren captured that perfectly. Completely renovated, it was so fresh, efficiently designed, and artistically decorated, with local artwork, and framed black and white postcards, advertisements. The……
“We were very impressed by our stay here! Very clean hotel, the staff was super friendly and helpful! The pool was clean and refreshing, after a hot afternoon at the beach! The breakfast was a nice variety, and delicious ! We have previously stayed next door, but will be coming back here, to the Comfort Suites, when we come to St Joe!”
“Great hotel and a great deal. Super close to shopping and beaches. If you are beach hopping the coast, this is one of the best places to stay for location alone. So many great perks to staying here.”
“We liked everything about this property.
We will be telling others about Candlewood Suites. We will be staying again in the future. I really loved the cuboards and the fact that they were stocked with plates, cereal bowls, salad bowls etc. Drawers had silverware for for 2 people plus can opener etc. Stove refrigerator microwave. This is top notch. Staff was so polite and enjoyable too. We came down from Cheboygan MI for a funeral this made our trip worth it.
Thank you.”
“Good place to stop in between Indiana and Illinois. Clean room and nice lobby with room to work while having coffee and breakfast. We went to Indiana Dunes NP and this was a convenient stop on our way to Naperville, IL. There is a local eatery/brewery called the Watermark not far from hotel and would highly recommend it.”
“We went for a weekend to be around St. Joe’s we stayed outside of downtown St. Joe’s at this location. Inside was very nice, not too many options outside of hotel for food other than fast food but very easy drive to beach and to stay around in area. All staff was very friendly!”
“Brief encounter with staff. Room was clean. Bed was not comfortable and every time you moved it felt like the boards were going to break and I am a small person. It definitely needs updated.”
“Good location off I94. Decent breakfast and clean linens. Pet friendly. Front lobby could use a refresh and my bathroom could use a paint touch up. Still recommending due to being 80% good. Will be interesting to see if they improve by the time of our next visit. (Did they just take over management? Seems like it)”
