Don't gamble with your holidays, stay elsewhere

Stay somewhere else! This has to be the worse customer service I received in years. This hotel cancelled one room, in a two room booking, ten days in advance, throwing their hands in the air and claiming that they've authorised hotels.com to refund me when they didn't. Don't waste your time trying to call them, no one cares in the hotel, or in their customer service line. Neither I nor hotels.com could get an answer from them.

The bathroon had sewage smell. We could not stay in it the 3 nights so we had to leave. The staff where friendly. But the room needs care taken to it. Cups where stained. The room has marks all over the walls. Such a shame as the main area down stairs in restaurant and as you go in looks soo nice.

Standard rooms are substandard

Uncomfortable beds - mattresses need replacing. code entry - no way of locking the room whilst inside as others may have code, also not useful if your dyslexic, mould in bathroom. Staff that clearly think we’re in the 1950s and chose to only to speak to my boyfriend despite the booking being in my name.

Great stay in Newquay.

The hotel location is perfect. On sea front and a few minutes walk into town. The rail station is only minutes away too. The hotel was quiet. My room,small, but everything was there. I was very comfortable in the room. I would certainly choose to stay there again. I had a lovely break and enjoyed Newquay very much.

Very lovely staff and we had luckily booked parking in advance as only about 5 spaces. Close to Newquay - walkable. We had booked 2 nights but could only handle staying 1. Our room was by the bins which came in very early and were very noisy. Blinds / curtains didn’t fit the window. Very small bed and uncomfy pillows.

My corner room was small and slightly grubby. The carpet was stained and dusty in places where the vacuum had not reached. Carpets throughout the hotel were in a similar condition. There was no kettle or phone in my room and no information in the room explaining the hotel or what time meals were. I got an email from the hotel the day before my travel saying that the dining area and bar were undergoing "renovation" so would not be available during my stay (breakfast was still available). I saw absolutely no sign of any work being done on any part of the hotel during my 7 night stay. The staff were friendly but seemed disorganised The fire alarm went off twice during my stay but each time it was a false alarm. Nevertheless no evacuation of the building was completed and it was only by passing someone on the stairs that I found out there was not a real fire. My biggest complaint is the pricing and the apparent rating of the hotel. I would have been far more at ease with the hotel's failings if I had been paying less than the £115 a night it cost me to stay there.

Great location

Had three nights in their premium room with balcony and sea view. Double room a little small but everything clean. Was made very welcome at reception. Restaurant and foyer very smart. Breakfast service and food was excellent (up to 11am). Location is easy walking distance to town & beaches. Parking at £8 for 24-hrs.

Terable stay

Disgustingly dirty carpets in public area and stairs. The entrance to the hotel was covered in bird poo ( which should have been cleaned as it was obviouse it wasnt fresh) The check in was realisticly terable as the staff on duty obviously didnt know what they were doing. Breakfast was cold when served straight from the kitchen. And the couple sat next to us at the same time found hair in there breakfast. Booked carparking wich was a parking bay at the rear of hotel which had rubish and a pile of ruble and concrete in it. and on return to hotel on 2nd day found that the parking was gone and being used by another guest. The room was clean inside however it wa sobviouse that the balcony hadnt been cleaned due to the amount of poo on the glass and balcony chairs. But for a executive room. The chairs in it are ikea table chairs not even a arm chair. The curtains didnt cover the window. All in all i will never stay here again and would not recomend to anyone.

Hotel okay, tolle Lage mit Blick aufs Meer. Direkt an Hauptstraße, aber das wusste ich vorher. Sehr nett und individuell ausgestattetes Zimmer. Personal anfangs super nett, dann plötzlich Personalwechsel und unpersönlich. Haus sehr hellhörig. Aber für1-2 Nächte super.
