Disappointed

Nice hotel. Mostly friendly staff. Was told upon checking in the pool had been contaminated and was being cleaned but was assured it would be clean within a couple days. Knowing we had significant plans that would consume the entire day the next day, I believed that would be fine.. afterall, they said the hot tub was functional, and I am a full-time single mom and nurse and I desperately needed a soak. I was looking forward to hitting the hot tub with my kiddo and my best friend(who would be joining us the next day in her own suite). The next day was just as long as I had initially thought it would be, with lots of activities in Chcago and dinner plans with the bestie! When we all returned to the hotel late that evening, we were informed the amenity we had planned our hotel stay for was going to be closed for the rest of our time there. The kind person at the desk offered us some free 3 day passes to a gym type facility in the area. Upon inspection, only children 13+ were allowed to use the facilities. My son is 9. So, part of what was going to be a fun vacation we all deserved, turned into resentment and a tearful bedtime. He was looking forward to wearing his new swim trunks. So much dissapointment. Had I been told truthfully the 1st night it would not be cleaned, we could have made other arrangements.

We’ll be back!

We enjoyed our quick stay. The staff was amazing and friendly, and the breakfast was fabulous. Little omelets and sausage, actually decent coffee, standard waffles and pastries. We didn’t get a chance to use the pool as there was an altercation and they closed it for the rest of the evening which was disappointing. We ate at the bar located inside the hotel which has a limited menu. The hamburgers we ordered were good but the bartender wasn’t very friendly or attentive. Food took over an hour. Room was clean and comfortable. We would definitely return!

Not up to expectations

Not a good experience. The first room we were put in the heat didnt work. Ice didnt work on the floor, or the floor before it. We were switched rooms but heat still stayed at 67 when set to 72. At least the ac wasnt running instead. Bar closed at 10pm on sat. night. Pretty early.. No pool towels to be found when we went swimming the next morning. Just expected better from past reviews. Wouldnt be back based on our experience.

You get what you pay for. It was beautiful remodeled, except the showers and pool. For the price I paid I wasn’t disappointed. The hotel was gorgeous, but ant everywhere by the pool. Big room, delicious breakfast.

Amazing hotel.

My check in service was amazing the staff was all very nice, the room was clean and conformable, my issue i had a problem with is the hotel is a smoke free hotel but some guess kept smoking weed and thats very annoying that some guest can not follow the rules not everyone wants to smell that awful smell, and my other issue was the pool was out of order all day after some guest did something to it and it took all day for them to get it clean and it was unavailable to use until like 7.00 pm and closes at 10.00 pm and the hotel was amazing but the guest who stayed there were awful and ghetto.

Great if the elevator worked

Our stay was good. Very nice room, clean. The hotel smelled really nice. Only complaint was that one of the 3 elevators was broken.... which i underatand you cant do much about... but there were no stairs connecting to the lobby floor so we were just stuck. At one point we waited for 15 minutes for an elevator that we were able to fit in.... making me late. When we asked if there were stairs the woman at the desk was very rude.

Never returning

I would avoid this hotel. One working elevator. Stairwell was extremely nasty and has to walk through pool area. No AC during our stay. So the hallways were about 80 degrees and the room at 75. When we asked the front desk how to turn the AC on in our 6th floor hotel room, they said they had no AC. They then told us to just open a window and they could bring us a box fan. I'm sorry, but we weren't staying at the econo lodge. It was the Hampton. Not 5 stars but certainly not "open a window and use a box fan" type of hotel. The whole vibe of the hotel was just off. Will never return.
