Modern, clean hotel in the busy part of town (it's 10 min walk to the big sights of Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque), small room but was absolutely enough for the 2 of us, comfy beds, nice view from 4th floor down on the street. Buffet breakfast was included excellent, many choices. We took public transport from airport IST (metro/subway - - bus - - tram/streetcar, yes you have to transfer 2x, it's longer but interesting to see around, about 8 euro i think), then hotel suggested taxi back for 35 E, took 55 mins. Hotel front staff also told me about the possibility to visit "Asia", yes Istanbul is on 2 continents. Just one hour "attraction" visit as we were pressed for time on a 24-hr layover, hop on a nearby subway /metro, just one stop and you're in Asia, right on the waterfront with fishermen and so many jelly fish floating around. Visited in early March.

I had a short layover but really wanted to go into the heart of Istanbul and walk the city as much as I could. This was a great location! Close to main attractions like the Blue Mosque & Ayasofia, plus the Spice Bazaar (what I really wanted to see) and Grand Bazaar.
