Good for a stopover
A strange hotel, as it is part of a leisure complex. The building on the outside looks tired, but inside everything was clean and tidy. The breakfast was good and the price paid was excellent.
The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful and spoke good English. We were too tired to use the facilities but they were there if we has wanted to use them.

This is a hotel with great potential. Sadly, it's not being utilised. A large pool onsite, apparently also sauna and steam room, but could not find them, a Fitness centre, too, but not included in your stay.
The building is like a maze with very poor signposting, so you get lost all the time.

Lots of opportunities to exercise. Very close to Europapark. Great personnel and breakfast. But the location is a bit outside of the village and not very attractive.

Hotel basic but good. Pool and sports hall facilities excellent for familes, especially if visiting nearby Europa Park. Breakfast good, but restaurant and bar openings erratic.
If walking from Kenzingen Station, first entrance very confusing - no indication of reception.

Ugly on the outside but Nice and cozy on the insid
From the outside the hotel looked very dirty, worndown and neglected. The building was dirty and there were plants covering a lot of the yards, walkways and roads.
However, inside the hotel was totally different. Nice and with smiling receptionists. The rooms was new and clean, with good Space and beds. The facilites was good as well. Overall a Nice hotel despite the outside apperances.

Good hotel for the money
After reading some reviews from the summer I wasn't holding up much hope. However, I was pleasantly surprised. It's slightly confusing on arrival maps says it's on your right. As you come over the bridge it is on the right but you need to turn left to go under the bridge to get to the carpark.
Check in was easy and the lady was very friendly.
The hotel is quirky as it's a sports centre too. Some corridors are quite dark. We booked for the pool and it looked lovely unfortunately our kids weren't well do we didn't use it.
The main entrance shuts at 10 so I would use the other entrance when leaving so you know how to get back in. Also, you can check in after ten but you need to prearrange this so you have a lock box number.
The room for 4 was spacious and clean. It was unusually hot the night we stayed so the room was very hot. There were two fans and the window opens completely.
Breakfast was as you would expect for Europe. Bread, eggs, fruit etc. it was perfectly fine.
There's a McDonald's and burger king and petrol station. Lidl 5 mins drive away in herbolzhiem. Kids wanted macds. So we didn't try the restaurant.
I would stay here again and hopefully use the pool.

a ruined start to the weekend
Our stay was for the birthday of my Mum (70year old) in family. This travel was previous from 3 month to visit the village of Alsace for Christmas. I got a message from reception by email to inform they close earlier the reception because someone is sick. Opening hour reception indicated on Hotels.com until 22:00. They decided to close the reception at 20:30. Because of unexpected We left the restaurant of Colmar without take diner. Just to arrive before the reception close and take keys. We were in hight stress . We were very disappointed. The heater didn’t work in my room but they solve the issue the day after. The breakfast is not the same in reality to compare on the picture of Hotels.com.
It’s indicate people speaks English, German and French, I can say English in some occasion but not French . but possible to find information in French. Nobody informed us about WiFi code.
The hotel is very clean. The size of room are ok.

Doesn't qualify as a hotel, it's a gym with a few rooms. The exterior is run down, the rooms are barely clean (the dust under the beds was proof). Breakfast was okay and, rooms have 4 actual beds. Cheap accommodation that is conveniently located 15 min from Europa Park but if you're looking for an actual hotel experience, I wouldn't recommend.

Not the best not the worst
It was one of the cheaper hotels around so didn't expect much, I wish it was a little cheaper for what you get. The room had zero ventilation and the shower was so stupidly design that the whole bathroom flooded.
The room was not fully cleaned but good enough.
The breakfast was OK but not more than that. The coffee machine was broken so ended up with no coffe.
All in all it was fine.

The room is ok, but the check-in was not possbile before 4:30 pm. Breakfast is possible until 9:30 am only. If the hotel is fully booked, the breakfast room seats are not sufficient.

The staff did their best to welcome us. But when we arrived for the check in they didn’t have the room ready. We had to wait. Once I got my room. I left my backpack in the room to get my luggage. Once I came back I found that one of the staff took my back pack. Opened it to put my water bottles inside and left it half open. They gave me wrong room and placed me to another room. Then the room was super dirty. I complained. They said they will clean tomorrow but it was same. Room is super hot. Really had a bad time in that property. The woman at the reception was kind and felt sorry. But yet I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone

Average Hotel
If you are traveling only for a night stay, it could be an option. The experience I had was not good as expected. The reception lady is very nice and helped me to change the rooms. The room I had for 1st one, the windows can not be opened, then I switched to the 2nd one, the shutter can not be closed, then I moved to the 3rd room, guess what, the toilet light can not switched on. But it got fixed by the kitchen stuff. Also the Internet connectivity was not good at all for the first two night and it got fixed during my last night.
In general, it is just ok to stay, price is also reasonable. But you can get a better one when add a little bit more for staying close to town.

Not a great stay
Pool can only be used between 7-9 pm as members have use the rest of the day.
No curtains in the room so you have to have the shutters down and can’t open the window, we were there when it was 34 degrees, no air con and pointless fan in the room, couldn’t open window.
We were meant to stop for 2 nights but only stayed 1 as the room was so hot it was making us all feel ill.
Food in the evening was over priced and not great.
Breakfast was very lacking, couple of bread roll lefts and a bit of cheese. Dead spiders and flies everywhere in the breakfast room.
