Location on the Beach was beautiful. The hotel is in serious need of remodel. I feel the list of amenities was not correct. Our bed was smaller than a queen, the fan in bathroom didn't work. There is no gym, or bike rental on site. They only have one person at front desk doing 5 jobs, if you want towels for beach, or need help you have to wait while they are checking people in and answering phones. Our door to our room along with rooms by us won't shut. You have to slam them, because the door jams are off. Carpets through out old, table on linaii cracked, needs to be painted. Rust. The worst was the room had a wierd smell. The bar has 4 chairs to sit, all the other tables are empty with reserved signs for restaurant use only. The small lobby is open air, no place to sit outside, other than on the beach. Since no pool there is no outdoor space.

The staff was excellent, the building was always clean. There was a storm while we were there, in fact it was a historically bad storm. The building lost power, the generator came on but did not supply power to our room or any of the rooms in the park wing as far as i could tell. The Hou Tree restaurant and bar is mostly outside & what is inside is open air so they had to close it to walk in customers & move the hotel service up to a ballroom upstairs. That wasn't an issue, what was an issue was we paid for the breakfast package which entitled us to 2 entrées & 2 non alcoholic drinks every day but they closed the kitchen completely one day, and the rest they only served salads or limited menu items. I paid for 14 days of breakfast but only had access to 10 days. The air conditioner in our room kept going out but it would come back after several power off cycles. It was a battle to keep the room cool once we got power back. All told, it was a good hotel stay but it could've been better.

We loved our stay at Kaimana and fully intend to stay here again next time we’re visiting home. The beachside location is the main reason we booked here and we love this more chill corner of Waikiki, the beach was cozy and not as “touristy” as the rest of Waiks. Staff was excellent and the room view was so good!

The location 15 minute walk away from the busy part of Waikiki is a plus. The life-guarded beach in front is beautiful and safe for swimming. Beach chairs, towels, and umbrellas are available at the front desk. The breeze coming through the open air lobby is wonderful. The food is delicious. Nice coffee bar a few steps away. Also, a fully stocked convenience market a few steps away. The only disappointment was the seating process at the bar area of the restaurant. It was confusing as to whether you need reservations or they only take walk-ins.

We seem to recall the hotel had a renewal operation not too long ago...but what we found was more like a paint over rather than a fix all and then paint over. Some of the doors have missing pieces etc. The most unforgiving thing for my roommate was having no coffee in the morning and having to go down to Russell's to buy coffee (especially since it is part of the resort fee!)

First room in the low part of the hotel was not great. The bed was comfy but it was very close to the ground and quite dark. We upgraded with the help of Jasmine for the last 4 nights of the stay and had a beautiful room.

The location is quite nice. It's just outside of the hustle & bustle of Waikiki, but still within walking distance. Located on a small local beach with easy to swim waters that beckon you to enter. Rooms are clean and comfortable. I enjoyed the complimentary beach towels & chairs too. Im not impressed with the front desk staff. I had a problem with the drain of the bath tub during our stay. I attempted to call the front desk, but after 10 rings, went downstairs. The first maintenance guy was unable to clear it. He stated the front desk would call us. We waited for 30-45 minutes before I fell asleep. They never did call. The next morning, we requested for maintenance to tend to the drain. This time, success! I booked the room with an app that stated I'd receive a complimentary bottle of wine. None was received. Later, when I enquired about the wine, found that they provided a $50 food/beverage credit to the room. That would have been nice to know upon check-in, rather than the day before we were leaving. They also advertise complimentary bikes to rent. I found that during our stay, the bikes were not available. The hotel stayed we could go down to this local shop about a block away, then they (the hotel) would reimburse us. This seemed like too much of a headache so we never did. They also advertise many amenities available upon request. I falsely assumed this included a microwave. To my dismay, there is not one available for customer use on property.
