This hotel is great! friendly and helpful staff, clean and large room (the quality is particularly amazing given the low price), and it is walkable to the Ringling mueseum. The only thing I am not that satisfied is the strong smell of disinfectant in the room. Will definitely consider this place once I visit Sarasota again.

We decided to stay at the Golden Host Resort based on the many, many 5 star reviews and were a bit disappointed. Our room was very clean and the bed was Super Comfortable. We asked for an extra blanket and pillow and this was provided instantly. We didn’t use the pool, but it looked refreshing with a nice grassy area surrounding it and plenty of chaise lounges to relax. With that said, reviews talked about this hotel’s retro vibe. Other than the blue retro mini fridge and microwave, the room and setting were average, ordinary, but sufficient. If you’re looking for a clean simple place to stay, the Golden Host hotel is great. If you’re seeking a unique, unusual, retro vibe, you might be disappointed.

What a wonderful little hotel !!! The Tiki Bar was a delight. Brian and Tyler we’re fantastic bartenders. The room itself was very cute. Mid-century modern and everything was brand new. It’s the bed was wonderfully comfortable and it was very spacious. We would definitely return.

The pool was enjoyable. The resort had undergone some remodeling that I think needs a little more attention. The door to the room had gaps at the bottom, so noise traveled into the room. It does not have a complimentary breakfast. They need to invest in more cooking equipment because the food was not cooked completely. The Tiki bar was awesome, and the activities (live music and bingo) were a blast for our party of friends. I will definitely stay here again, but I do hope some adjustments will be made.

We loved the property. The vintage vibes were fun. The pool and pool area were very nice. The hotel was definitely older and had some quirks but was nice. There were some details that could have been cleaner, like baseboards and doors, but wasn't a huge issue for us. The location was nice and we were able to get to most attractions/restaurants we went to in 10-15 minutes. The staff were incredibly friendlu and professional. Our only serious complaint was that the matresses were soooo soft. You immediately sunk down in them. We were not comfortable while sleeping and went home with super sore backs from it. They need new matresses with some support.

The Staff was very nice. Our room smelled like mold and the comforter was ripped and had blood stains on it. We tried to find another hotel but all were booked. front desk was very nice and apologized. Sitting, they would give us a new comforter period after that, they realized they didn't have any extra comforters to give us. So they gave us a blanket which I was leery to touch period Pool did not look clean. Therefore, we did not go in it period Pictures are deceiving.

The room was ok. The entire floor was sticky as though undiluted cleaning solution was left on the floor. I tried to alert housekeeping, and she told me she didn't speak English, but she seemed to understand when I told her responded to her question about towels.

This is an updated motel. It was very convenient to park right in front of our room. We had an accessible room. The bathroom door was supposed to be a barn door, but it had no tracks at the bottom and was hard to keep it closed. Th water pressure was amazing. It was surprisingly quiet in our room. We are going back to Sarasota next month for a drs appt and will stay here again. The price is very reasonable.

The room. We complained about our first room having a broken dresser, dirty floor and musty bathroom. They switched our room but the second room had issues also (the desk was broken and the bathroom had a bit of a sewer gas smell). We did not complain a second time. Other than that our stay was fine.

Staff was friendly. The room could have been cleaner - laminated floors were dirty. The bed was really soft, not enough pillows. The shower could use a grab bar. Was thankful for laundry facility. We were there two weeks and could have used clean sheets at least once during our stay. We were on the first floor which was nice.
