I booked this room thinking it was part of a hotel resort. However, I called the day we were supposed to check in and requested an ocean view (thinking it was a hotel). I was told that the units are timeshares and that the owners had booked all the ocean view units out.
Upon our arrival, we had to pay a $250 deposit that would be held until we checked out. I was not aware of that deposit. Additionally, we were told we had to go to the travel desk to get wristbands that we would have to use in order to access anything on the premises. When we went to the travel desk to get our wristbands, I heard the employees pitching timeshares to other guests that had just checked in before me, and scheduling times for them to attend a timeshare presentation. I was immediately turned off by this. I’m on vacation and thought I rented a hotel room, so the last thing I wanted was a pitch about timeshares.
The buildings are old and our unit smelled like an assisted living facility. While spacious, it definitely needs some upgrading. Only one swimming pool for the entire complex.
