The Royal Kona Resort is well situated near shops, bars and restaurants and has onsite parking charged at US$25 per night. Its quite an old property so the room look a little dated, however good facilities including coffee making and ice are available and rooms were serviced daily during our stay. I had to ask for more towels, although the room was booked for 3 people only 2 sets of towels were supplied.
There was a long queue for reception when we arrived which is far from ideal after a long flight, with no attempt made to reduce the queuing time. At other times reception appeared to be completely unmanned.
The pool area is pleasant, but much smaller than it appears in the photos. Towels are provided and in general the pool area was quiet.
We did not eat at the resort, but we enjoyed a very nice complimentary Mai Tai!!
