We showed up 2 hours after check in and our rooms weren't ready. The person at the front desk was not apologetic at all. Once the first room was ready. There was a blood stain on one sheet and hair on the other. Luckily the house keeper was still outside and she was kind and helpful. The bathroom door wouldn't lock it looked like it had been kicked in at some point as did most of the doors I saw. The carpet in the halls was duct taped together. There was water damage all over the building. It seemed like part of the building was an apartment and it was across the street from a strip club. The pool was kinda murky so we didn't swim but I did see a homeless person enter while I was on the balcony. He seemed to enjoy it. The lock and door to the pool is also broken.

Standards have gotten worse

The staff is amazing. AC limited in most of the building was not working well. Toilet ran constantly, unless you jiggle the handle to get the tank to work properly. This led to the toilet bowl having water stains - making it look dirty. Tub took 5 minutes to drain once water was turned off. I had to step out of the shower and rinse my feet to get the soapy water off. The floors against the baseboards and the dresser had dust/dirt in the corners. The microwave was puzzle to get it to work. Snacks/soda had to be purchased in main lobby.

Late Check In, Then good

The rooms was good, service was good, but we were supposed to be able to check in at 3pm and the room was not ready until 6:30, and that was a little disturbing to our trip's plan.

Never Again Red Lion

While I understand staffing shortages, I do not understand lying, lack of communication, lack of hospitality and shirking responsibility to the next guy. After driving a straigh 12 hours, we tried to early check in only to find out 8 staff called out, 7 of which were housekeepers. 2 managers from other locations came to help out. We stayed around the hotel for an hour and checked back in with the front desk on the status of our room. One of those stand in managers collected my information, looked at my reservation, and told me she had to go check rooms to make sure they were ready. We were going to get lunch, and she told me when we came back, she would make sure our room was ready. She confirmed we had 4 people with us. We came back to a long line and only 1 employee. By the tine we got to the front desk, she had said that they do not have our doubke room, they switched our room to a single king. We had 4 people, i was not going to share a bed. She saw the managers note, but did not share with me what it said. The manager had known this and did not tell me. I was asked if I wanted to buy another room or if I wanted a refund. 4 hours we waited around when we could have found a different accomidation right away. I was dead tired, I had somewhere I had to be at 8pm, and now ny sleep and recover time had been eated up by some uncaring, disrespectful, crappy business. We were left scrounging for a place with 2 beds. I ended up spending an additional $125 for a better place.

Sad to see it has gone down hill

The hotel was very nice when I was there a few years ago, prior to the plandemic. When we walked in yesterday the distinct smell of an odd very old building smell immediately hits you. The smell is difficult to describe. The smell is in the HVAC system. It is not horrible, but it is not pleasant. I left the patio door open for a few hours and it made little difference The place is just old and not kept up as it should have been. My brother mentioned it was a homeless shelter during the plandemic. The employees are very pleasant, but they cannot overcome the smell. We did not stay for breakfast as we could not eat with the smell. It is sad to see what was once a very nice facility become undesirable. I want this facility to succeed, but I spent $129 for this facility when I could spent $140 for a much better experience. Possibly I can save you from a poor experience.

The staff was extremely friendly upon check-in. The halls smelled funny walking to the room. When we got into our room there was a puddle of liquid in the middle of the room, we used a towel to clean it up and the amount of dirt that came up was unsettling. There were also cobwebs in the corners of the windowsill.
