Hotel had changed to an AC Marriott and undergone renovation - family room was large (2 doubles and a single sofa bed) and in immaculate condition. Whole place looked clean and modern. Bar was a bit overwhelmed by the number of gamers staying the whole weekend (could do with some soft drinks on pump instead of cans) but bar staff were very good. Really grateful to the team for arranging to return some shirts we accidentally left in the room too, a very kind gesture!

The change from Ibis to AC Marriott appears to have come with a make-over that maybe wasn't quite complete (bar was stripped back). But the look and atmosphere is clean, relaxing and the staff are friendly. Over UKGE convention weekend though, there seemed to be a slight shortage of staff. In the afternoon there was only one staff member in attendance at the bar and breakfast was a little chaotic with missing plates or items taking a long time to refill. I did love the little touches like having lavender at bed time though. Overall I enjoyed the stay and hope that the rougher edges smooth out. Would recommend.
