Nicely decorated and lovely communal and pool areas. Really good value in Nosara. It is a bit out of town but TukTuks are easy enough and affordable. Unfortunately we were give a room with a severe large ant infestation, we tried to raise it with staff initially and also deal with ourselves, but in the end had to move rooms as it got out of hand (the new room was better, but also still had ants and was very hot…). Staff were lovely and super helpful, our stay was just let down by lack of maintenance on what has the potential to be a great hotel.

We loved our stay at Astra! We both needed a comforting place to call home for a few days after bouncing around all over. This was the perfect place with the perfect amenities. Highly recommend, would stay again.

This is NOT a 4 star hotel. The staff is nice and they do their best. Be cautious as this hotel is not as nice as they make it seem and you have to have your own transportation or be prepared to spend $50 to $60 dollars a day in transportation costs getting to and from town and activties. I found it inconvenient and lacking many amenities.

The staff at Astra was incredible! They embody the heart of Pura Vida and costa rica. Astra felt like such a safe, clean, space to land as a solo traveler. I will definitely be back!

This property has a lot of potential. The individual staff members were nice and very eager to please once we engaged with them. But from the moment we arrived until we left, it was clear that the hotel guests are not priority, as everyone’s main focus seems to be on their onsite restaurant (breakfast was very good!) When there were issues with water, we had to ask for updates. We had to ask for our room to be freshened up after several days. Maybe I’d be less critical if we didn’t pay a pretty high price to stay. We were disappointed.
