The best thing about the Tamarind is the location and the views. Each room has a private patio or porch with a view of the water - I was afraid the pictures would be too good to be true, but they are real! It was so lovely to have morning coffee and just sit in the evenings and relax. The beach is a very short walk from the buildings with the rooms, and offers lounge chairs, beach volleyball, cornhole, and snorkel gear and kayaks at no cost to guests. The onsite restaurant is under new management and is rebuilding - the menu was limited but the service was excellent. The room itself was nice - bed was comfy and the little kitchenette offered most of what we needed for simple meals. Bathroom is small but adequate. The room got humid if the A/C wasn't running but I'd imagine that would be the same anywhere. Housekeeping was limited and the front desk staff weren't forthcoming with info (did not tell us about the amenities when checking in, and we never found the fitness center). But overall it was a lovely stay and worth it just for the patio and views.

Great view of Buck Island. Restaurant food and drinks are good. The Wi-Fi was basically nonexistent. Got different reasons at the front desk: usually that I was the only one complaining and once that there actually was a problem. Room is as pictured. Nice little kitchenette with some dishes.

Staff were kind and helpful, room was clean and comfortable and we loved the kitchenette! Food is more expensive in the island so cooking helped a lot! We worked out in the gym daily which was great! Kayaking was free and fun! Pool was beautiful but the beach was stunning. We traveled with a family of five and stayed two weeks and they put an air mattress in our room for one of my sons. The beach was stunning with views of Buck island! Deep End restaurant was amazing with the best staff and food! Convenient to Christiansted where we shopped and got a catamaran to buck island for a day of snorkeling! Our room had an amazing view of the ocean! Nothing but good things to say about it! Hope to be back next year! Special thanks to everyone one the staff, they work hard to keep the resort humming and the guests happy!😃

My family and I really enjoyed our stay here at the Tamarind Reef Resort. We loved the staff and the Deep End Bar and Grill was phenomenal!! Chance, the bartender, took great care of us when we would visit. We loved talking with him and Mark any time that we could. Jesus and the rest of the kitchen staff did an excellent job each time. We cannot recommend coming to this hotel enough and hope to be back next year!

staff was excellent, place is a run-down motel, not a resort inaccessible beach, kiddie pool, far away from town, restaurants and all activities Needs an update & deep clean! Taxis very expensive to go everywhere. MUST rent a car!!! Beware, they drive US cars on the opposite side of the road from the states. Hotel was dead, empty. Town had not much but goods imported from India and Bangladesh. Not a good destination. I would like a refund. This was no vacation.

Yes, everything was Wonderful from the room except for TV problems. Breakfast was very good Alice was amazing and so was Lolly who took care of the room. The front staff were VERY accommodating even had a bottle of Champagne that was requested we had to return it even got credited back for not opening the bottle due to us not liking sweet wine...EVERYTHING was Wonderful !!! We would return in a Heart beat !! Thank you for taking GOOD care of US !

When I first read reviews of Tamarind, the reviews were mixed. I decided to take a chance and we couldn’t have been happier. The room was spacious and clean. The location of our room was fantastic, I walked out with my coffee every morning and was greeted by the ocean. The pool was right there and my daughter loved that. The pool was large, overlooking the ocean and well maintained. The location was great. The staff were beyond wonderful. They were so friendly, welcoming and were eager to help with anything we needed. Special shoutout to Lala, WOW, what a hard worker and a genuinely great person!!! The restaurant also got a bad rap on some reviews, however, the staff were absolutely wonderful, excellent service, and the food was pretty good. I would definitely go here again in the future! Thank you to everyone at Tamarind for helping to make our stay memorable!

I definitely do not recommend this hotel. There’s no room service they never refill the soap or shampoo, or the towels. The beach is very bad and not good for swimming. There are roosters singing all around from 4 am to 7 am if you like to rest and sleep it is impossible. Also there’s cockroaches in the room. There’s better places to stay on this beautiful island.

This was our 2nd stay here. The office staff are great. The rooms are okay, the bathrooms are tiny with small showers. The main issue is the restaurant and bar-while on resort property not part of resort, so make sure you take your credit card. The people who work in restaurant/bar leave a lot to be desired, except one bartender that works week nights, the guy on Sundays is beyond horrible. The restaurant to start has a very limited menu and half the time part of this over priced, bland food is not available. If you want biscuits and gravy beware it can take up to an hour to get, they don't begin making it prior to opening. Eggs they only know how to cook well done. The bar is somewhat boring as it closes at 9 even on weekends. The best thing to do if you intend to enjoy drinks and supper out is to just go ahead and go to town. The food is 100% better, it is more reasonably priced. The beach is okay although there is only a small area can enter water but can snorkel off beach.
