No Compassion For An Emergency

Unfortunately, my review must be poor as the management was unwilling to work with me during a family crisis that prevented me from going on my trip. When I tried calling to resolve the matter myself, no one answered the phone. And when Expedia intervened for me, they were not willing to refund me, give me credit, or work with me in any other way. It is such a shame that a company could have such a lack of human compassion during a family's most desperate moment. I will not be booking with this hotel again and will be informing friends and family that this is how I was treated.

Expecting more for my money

You pay for the view. The hotel has ZERO amenities. The Wi-Fi is horrible. If you want or need anything you have to go to the front desk. No extra towels. Unless you go get them. The hotel has no elevator so you are climbing a ton is stairs if you get a room in a higher floor. And to top it off the furniture needs repair and the mattress needs to be replaced.

Great place to stay for the value. Rooms were very clean and spacious and was a great deal. Centrally located and easy access to just about anything you could want to do. Service was also very good, we dropped our bags off at the check in when we arrived and our room was available 2 hours early for no additional charge. Was also nice to be a block off the main strip so it was quiet and peaceful at night without trying to sleep through music blasting at midnight. Would highly recommend

Our experience at the Casa Mariquita hotel was very negative and disappointing. To start, we booked a room for 3 adults, and not only the room was very small for 3 people, but there were only 2 full size beds, so that the third person had to leave and find a room in another hotel. The second major issue was the total lack of Wi-Fi as well as cell phone coverage in our room, which was unacceptable. We were not reachable by phone, email or text for the whole time we were in our hotel room. Last, but not least, in the hotel description, it was stated that breakfast was provided, but a Keurig machine was in the very small hotel lobby. Based on the description of the hotel and our experience, we think that we should get at least a partial refund. The room description was misleading, there was no bed space for 3 people. The total lack of Wifi and cell phone coverage was a major issue, that we were not informed of. Thanks for reading, we hope to get a refund.

Casa Mariquita Disappointed

Pros: Comfortable bed: good water pressure Cons: Office Hours posted as 9:00 - 3:00 Monday - Thursday. Check-in time scheduled at 3:00. Called number on the door and waited 15 minutes for assistance. At no time was there anyone in the office. Replacement ironing board requested - never received. Poor customer service; would not stay here again.

The staff were really nice and professional. The room is very small and it had a wet smell. The wifi was horrible. Our devices did not connect. I notified the staff the next day because they are only there from a certain time. She had no clue on how to troubleshoot or fix the issue. The price is reasonable. I will not be staying there in the near future.

This really should be 4 stars . Great room in a quaint seaside “villiage” Avalon, Catalina island. An hour from the mainland, Los Angeles! Older hotel; very clean; large room with King size bed. Ours had balcony with partial ocean view. Service and management were awesome . Highly recommended

Sewer water was out until 4pm. Front desk forgot to mention. At once, TV signal kept going out. When reported , she couldn't resolve. She offered to place me in other room, smaller n not what i paid. No mention of any adjustment or discount given. I chose to stay on same room. Next day, maintenance could not resolve TV issue. Reminded them that it was intermittent. Front desk person saw it first day. Noisy plumbing, and you could hear everything from next doors.

The walls were very thin and conversations next door were audible as well as walking upstairs. It was a very dark room with the windows facing the outdoor hallway and the other rooms. The beds were creaky and loud when you moved. The room smelled musty.
