The mattress very spacious but the quality of the mattress was very poor as we woke with neck and bck pain . The heating was not working sufficiently but the staff provided an extra oil heater on the second day. The indoor pool was not heated and the jacuzzi was only big enough for 3 people at a time. The shower pressure was low. The breakfast was expensive for what you received. To be fair it was our first time staying at a private hotel rather than a public hotel. If your used to staying in main stream hotels than this private hotel would not be ideal for you. There are a few restaurants 15mins drive away but not many, parking was a little difficult as the roads are narrow. Overall we had a lovely quiet valentines weekend.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel with my partner and our dog. From the moment we arrived, the receptionist was incredibly welcoming and thoughtful. As I am recovering from knee surgery, she kindly offered us a downstairs room with easier access, which made a huge difference to my comfort. She truly went the extra mile and was exceptionally kind, professional, and caring. The hotel is very dog-friendly, and we felt genuinely looked after throughout our stay. Highly recommended – we would definitely stay again.

A great 4 night stay. We ate at the hotel each evening, something different each night from the great menu. Mostly chosen for the surrounding area and despite a rather dire weather forecast we were out and about most days, and the spa and pool filled in one afternoon. Thanks to all the team for a great stay, we’ll miss the seats by the fire in the bar.

It was a very nice place. Helpful and very nice staff. Facilities were good. Food was tasty and filling. Unfortunately they are not very good at communication between restaurant and front desk as they missed a complete meal for the two of us.
