Very welcoming staff. Wonderful spacious room. There was a welcome gift for the dog and also fudge and a coffee machine for the adults! The breakfast was fantastic with a good choice. Beautiful hotel in a stunning setting. We enjoyed sitting out on the terrace looking over the gardens and countryside, and relaxing in the elegant and comfortable lounge. Great staff, friendly and attentive. Our room was spacious, great views and well equipped, and nicely laid out. Good food too. A great place to stay in Dartmoor.

We had a wonderful stay at the Moorland Hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone exploring Dartmoor. The accommodation and dining options were excellent. The location is very close to Hay Tor with lots of beautiful walks from the hotel.

Booked on a whim as we were in the area, the hotels surprised with its beautiful location and grounds, lovely public rooms, and friendly staff. Dinner very nice and we will return with our dogs next time. Some deferred maintenance is obvious on the exterior.

Fabulous place to stay with very friendly and attentive staff. Great food, beautiful location and it was a very relaxing way to spend my birthday! The hotel treated me well and housekeeping put balloons and a card with fudge in our room, and I even got a lunchtime mini dessert platter. Nice touch! Loads of parking, great shower and if you love walking it’s in an ideal location. I can’t recommend this place enough!

Clean room. Good for one night. However did not get much sleep as rooms around were walking around allot during the night. And floors creak allot. Not at all sound proof. Not worth the price if you want a good night sleep. Night manager met in morning was absolutely wonderful however check in manager was slightly rude/standoffish when I first arrived. Felt as if checking me in was an inconvenience.
