"We chose to stay at The Franklin for our wedding, and despite the friendliness of the staff, there were a few instances where the hotel did not meet expectations. Firstly, the lack of option to check-in early despite advance notice was somewhat inconvenient, secondly my partner was promised a Prosecco and chocolate board on arrival, but there was no Prosecco. Thirdly, the sound on the floor above us was constant and led us to believe that we were sleeping beneath a hallway with constant footfall. This resulted in an extremely tired bride the next day. None of it felt particularly “luxury” aside from the nice toiletries, but having stayed in many other luxury hotels we will not be returning in a hurry. It’s a shame as they really ought to create memorable experiences for important life events."

"We were upgraded to Sloane Club which was excellent in every area including fantastic staff. Wonderful rooms and bathrooms. Training needed for waiting staff at Sloane Place at breakfast. Upgraded didn’t include breakfast in the club restaurant, we had to return to the original restaurant for breakfast. That is where it went wrong. The staff didn’t have us on their list. In front of all the people in the small restaurant I had to show our booking, it felt like we weren’t trusted. Everyone in the restaurant heard the staff saying we weren’t on the list but we had been upgraded in strange voices. We waited 28 minutes for staff to come to take our order. People around us were being served but not us. Others arrived at tables and orders taken within 5 minutes. Staff treated them well but not us. It was like we’d done something wrong. At 28 minutes I asked if we could order. Our food and drinks arrived 47 minutes after we had arrived for breakfast. Ours took twice as long as everyone else in the restaurant. We really appreciated being upgraded, however, we felt that our overall experience was diminished because of the breakfast staff. Everyone and everything else was fantastic."

"Clean room. Wifi was great. Staff when there were excellent. No frills except tea and weak coffee. Close to some restaurants a few blocks away. Good value for the money."
