"We chose the Greatt Hotel for its location - 1 block from the Shilin Night Market (one of the best in Asia) and close to the Shilin train station - straight shot to CKS Memorial and convenient 15-minute bus to National Palace Museum. It is a bit spartan, but the rooms are clean and the bathroom was great. Reception was very nice and useful but did not speak English - the use of Google Translate solved all problems. I definitely recommend this hotel."

"Very nice part of town, a little bit off the beaten path but if you don't mind walking shinlin was just a few minutes away and had my favorite night market from the whole city. Extremely safe to get around, therevwere plenty of maybach and Rolls-Royces in the valet while we were there. Crossing the street does require your utmost attention so make sure you watch a few instructional videos before you get there! The scooters are incredibly prevalent "

The washer/dryer was awesome (although it took quite a while to dry the clothes). Location was amazing - MRT across the street and views of the Grand Hotel within walking distance. The room was equipped with the drinking water, tea/instant coffee, bathroom essentials and disposable slippers. My suggestion for improvement was about the floor carpet of which was old and stained.
