"This hotel is in a great location in the heart of the old quarter of Bilbao. It’s also within easy walking distance of the museum, along the river, and the main shopping district.
We arrived a couple of hours before check-in time and were able to leave our luggage with the reception staff, while we had a walk around Bilbao. When we returned later, our luggage had been taken up to our room.
The hotel is boutique -style, in an old building that has been given a contemporary makeover internally.
We found our room very comfortable and clean, and we were given a couple of cans of complimentary soft drinks, and beer (which don’t get replaced for free once you’ve drunk them), but water is topped up daily, foc. We were also given a voucher for a drink in the bar.
I particularly liked the large bathroom with L’occitane toiletries, and the little Juliet balcony, which overlooked one of the old side streets (so it can get a little noisy with bar noise, at night).
We had good weather during our stay and it was nice to be able to open the large windows to let air in.
The air-con was very quiet during the night, and the layout of the bedrooms meant we didn’t really hear much noise from any neighbouring rooms.
There is also a safe in each room, which is always useful for securing valuables/passports etc.
The reception staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. On our last day, they allowed us to store our luggage, following check-out, until we needed to collect it late afternoon. "
"American style hotel across the bridge from main city area that is easily walkable. It has an underground parking garage across the street and the old area of the city is right behind the hotel with GREAT dining options. Only complaint is that the bathroom is in the middle of the room with glass walls that are frosted in the middle."
"Incredible hotel with wonderful people. The housekeeping team were so brilliant. The hotel was beautiful, well thought out and considered. it was so quiet and incredibly luxurious and comfortable. It was such a treat to stay here. Thanks to the whole team for making it such a special stay."
"Took a bit to figure out the public parking lot but from there on the room location was excellent…right around corner from Plaza Nueva and many very good restaurants and bars, bakeries, shopping. Very secure and we had a balcony looking out on the street and activity in the city."
"The room and communal areas were spotless. We didnt use the spa or breakfast facilities so can't comment on those.
Our only regret was that we didn't go for a room with a view and had a room at the back which faced the wall and was a bit dark.
Also, would be great if the skybar was open a bit later and was a bit bigger as it did get crowded and the bar downstairs wasnt open.
Staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel has a fantastic location for exploring Bilbao."
"Arriving later in the evening, the front door was locked and there was very poor information and communication as how to get inside the building. The girl at reception could have simply came down and opened the door, but instead I was trying to have an online conversation as to how to gain entry, and at the same time trying to translate some text by the door to try and figure out how to get in.
I was outside in the rain for nearly half an hour.
Very poor communication and information if you don’t speak Spanish. "
