"The stay was very pleasant, however the breakfast arrangements need to be overhauled. The very personal ordering service is excellent, but the wait( in our case 38mins) for the hot food to arrived is unnecessary. Thankfully we were in no rush so the wait wasn’t too much of a problem. However, on previous occasions when on a business trip I’ve had to leave before the food arrived so I could attend a morning meeting on time. Please look at changing the breakfast arrangements as many of my colleagues refuse to stay at this hotel for this very reason. "
"Great location for Birmingham City centre (two minute walk to local tram stop) with out the expense of the large chain hotel groups, easy parking at an affordable rate, pleasant and efficient staff , well appointed room with good amenities. Choice of a well stocked bar serving drinks and food or hotel restaurant serving evening food and breakfast, whilst some parts are a little dated or tired the hotel is very comfortable and welcoming for a couple of nights stay."
"The staff at check in were very friendly. Upon checking into our room it was clear that the air didn't work - the central air had a flashing warning light and the room had been equipped with a plug in fan and a plug in radiator. Luckily we didn't need to use either as we were travelling with a child and the radiator would have been burning hot to the touch and the fan was incredibly noisy so she'd have never slept. Not an issue for us but in hotter or colder weather I'd have wanted a room change. On top of this, when the shower was running water leaked from the ceiling onto you, as if a pipe above had burst, dripping water that had filtered through dirty ceiling and plaster onto the person showering. Again, if our daughter hadn't been asleep when we'd noticed this we'd have asked for a different room. We did inform reception of this in the morning and they did apologise. There were also silverfish in the bathroom.
Overall, the hotel is fine, and we didn't pay a lot for our stay. It is a very convenient location but it just felt like the room needed quite a bit of general maintenance. "
