The Burlington Hotel
8/10 Good
"Lovely hotel on the beach front with a bar, restaurant and live entertainment on some nights. We didn't have a sea view room but our room was very nice with a clean bathroom and a comfortable bed. The curtains and carpet needed cleaning but otherwise, the room was OK.
The staff was very helpful, friendly and very accommodating.
It's very close to lots of cafés, restaurants, bars theatres and the town centre.
We would definitely stay again."
"Staff were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel was very tired. Furniture was worn and dirty. Front revolving door was so dirty your fingers would slip on the handrail and your reflection in the dirty glass window was blurry.
The tablecloths in the diningroom had sun spots and green stains.
You can tell the management was investing in the exterior with fresh paint but the interior needed excessive work"
"We upgraded from a cosy room to a superior room. The room itself was lovely, though quite small and the bathroom had a roll top bath. The room was extremely clean and the decor was lovely. However, I would say that there was little space to put any of our things, little surface space in the bedroom and the bathroom. Our room was on the top floor; we were asked before arrival whether we had an problem with stairs, and there were quite a few levels to go up so be aware of this. I do have one gripe! There was a constant humming noise in our room, I expect coming from the extractor fan that was outside the bedroom window. We did put up with it but for anyone who likes silence, it would have drove you round the twist. There was a small radio on in our room when we arrived; so wondering if that was to disguise it. I assume this humming noise would have been heard in the rooms either side of us as well. We were in Room 20. Again, lovely room, was let down by the noise."
"Lovely breakfast and choice of bar food. Close to the beach and shopping centre. Nice room with balcony overlooking the sea. Parking available nearby and you can get a token from reception."
"Lovely location on the beach front. Very large room overlooking the beach. Some of the staff seemed to be preoccupied- could have been more attentive."
