The Reston Hotel, Newcastle South (Washington), Part of the AG Collection
10/10 Excellent
"Really quiet room considering its location. Only noise came from neighbouring bedroom doors shutting (and ours rattling when they did so)
Staff were lovely. Good breakfast offering included. "
"Staff were fantastic, room was nice, clean and comfortable.
Only let down by others staying who were smoking cannabis and partying till all hours. Very little sleep was had."
DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Newcastle International Airport
6/10 Okay
"Perfectly adequate hotel for overnight stay before an early flight. Room was very tired and dated and frustratingly there were no plug sockets at bedside table to set/charge phone."
The Tynemouth Castle Inn - The Inn Collection Group
8/10 Good
"It's a fantastic place to stay, but the wallpaper which is fab could do with glueing down in the room we stayed in 132.
Also herb sausage is not breakfast sausage, maybe do just pork or beef sausage.
Everything else was fantastic lovely stay."
"Parking was easy and is based underneath the hotel and has EV chargers including a BP pulse charger. The rooms were of a good standard with plenty of space although the shower had somewhat “rubic cube’ qualities but once on had a good water pressure. Great views from the bar area based on the ground floor. I was surprised that that there was no roof top / upper floor cocktail bar to make the most of the iconic views across the city and the river - a missed opportunity. The buffet breakfast was good value and constantly topped up - served until 11am - check out at 12. The location is really convenient and is only a 10min stroll to the quayside bars and restaurants. Will definitely return. "
