"Beautiful castle and location. Our room was lovely and we had a good experience dining in the atmospheric castle dining room. The decor of the bar and lounge were also very atmospheric, just as you would expect from a castle and enhanced the experience. The grounds were good to explore. We joined the "history tour" of the castle and this was a very enjoyable and informative 40 minutes, including going up to the tower."

"A special thanks to the team here - I'd gotten lost walking the wall (a recurring theme on this trip). They called me as dark approached, and sent someone out to find me and pick me up - a not-quite-so-uncommon occurrence from what I was told. They even kept the kitchen open a bit late for me, which I sincerely appreciated. The food (breakfast and dinner) was also excellent, the room was clean and comfortable, and I was provided with directions and a steer back to the trail the next morning....

"We had a lovely stay here. Our room was a good size, as was the bathroom, including a jacuzzi bath. We enjoyed the little extras, such as fruit and cookies and bottled water. The bed was really comfortable and we had everything we needed. The hotel is in a good location to enjoy Hadrians wall and the roman forts, also the Sycamore Gap walk.
