Great experince from the time we entered the hotel until we left. Friendly staff and very helpful . Rooms are very nice and bathroom is large . Beautiful Comfortable and Good Value too! We were down for a College Graduation and totally enjoyed our stay.

Very enjoyable stay. It was a quick one nighter for us, but we had a nice dinner on the Riverwalk just a short walk from the hotel. Room was clean, comfortable and the AC worked well. We used their "service express" twice for blankets and a toothbrush. Both arrived quickly and there was no charge. The premium riverside balcony was literally 1ft wide. Other premium riverside balconies were 3 or 4 ft and you could actually stand on them. We arrived at 6:30pm on Friday for the weekend and noticed this immediately. When we asked the front desk to switch our room she acted like she didn't know what we were talking about. First she tried to convince […] me that those were upgraded rooms. After some additional poking and prodding she finally admitted they were the same room prices but wouldn't switch us. I'm pretty confident that if I complained further we could have been moved but I didn't feel like messing with it. The bar tender in the awesome restaurant downstairs had a bad attitude. My only disappointment was the "unfriendly" phone...lol Unlike the other hotels I've stayed it, I couldn't figure out how to get my car from the garage or how to call guest services. There was no buttons on the phone to help.

We stayed here one night. The hotel seemed to be completely booked. We were made to wait a long while to check-in, be seated at the restaurant, be waited on and then again during check-out. I am accustom to waiting 5 min or so but we were in excess of that everywhere. This hotel needs more staff. I had booked this hotel online, when I arrived to the hotel they had no rooms ready for me. A guy then came up beside me and said "I am in need of a hotel room." the woman said ok we have a room on the 12 floor available right now we can get you in and off he went while I waited 45 minuts for a room to become available. Great hotel for my romantic weekend, loved it. Staff was super friendly! Room wasn't ready as soon as we arrived but the front desk clerk made that up to us with a credit from the Zucca restaurant downstairs.

David our Concierge made us the most romantic reservations for dinner over the river walk. The service was fantastic at Acenar, the food was a surprise also, Mexican food with a twist. All we did was inform David it was our 26th anniversary and he had them roll out the red carpet for us. There was even a traveling Mariachi band that sang and played a few tunes for us! And when we returned from dinner we had a special anniversary tray waiting for us when we got back to our room. We have stayed at the Westin San Antonio several times before. We think it has declined noticably! It was a great hotel in the past, now only good,at least for the money..no turn down service, no ice in the room every late afternoon, no shoe shine, no paper delivery ( you have to ask for a Journal). Can you imagine they ask $1 for a bottle of water? […] I guess the huge tourist trade don't know the difference, so awe them with a beautiful lobby and do away with the extra refinements. I have happily stayed with Westin before but was disappointed in this stay with them. When we arrived we were bombarded by several valets that rushed us through emptying out our car. We weren't even sure we had everything. We were assigned a room on the LOUD "traffic" side of the hotel instead of the Riverwalk side. The hotel was not full so I don't […] understand why they wouldn't give their guests the best experience ever. The "heavenly" beds were hard. (This was the main reason I chose this hotel - I loved the heavenly beds in other hotels). The temperature outside at night was in the 30's but the room only got up to 70 because the unit installed only worked on the "low" setting. We had someone check on this and it was installed this way so we were cold most of the time. We had a buffet breakfast that cost us $34 each. The cost was rather extravagant for a buffet but it was Christmas morning so there wasn't very many places to eat plus it is hard to get employees to work. I normally do not do fancy, but for the honeymoon, it was a nice change of pace. The room either had what we needed or they would bring it to us, with the exception of a microwave, but we were not reheating food this trip. The view over the riverwalk was very nice, and even was over the pool and outside dining area. Should have been told that the hotel lounge and restaurant would be completely shut down the evening of 11/23/12 fo the river parade. Needs to be a notification on the website or at least notified upon check in. We didn't even know there was a parade until we left the hotel and walked around.

Every encounter we had with the staff was very nice. I believe the hotel was a little under staffed. There was a wait for any service - restaurant (2 meals), room service, the bar. Most pleasant person was someone that I didn't meet - talked to him on the phone !!

The hotel was fabulous. We loved the decor and lovely setting. Our complaint was no attendant at pool bar and no hot tub. The menu Was priced high as well so we ate out. Otherwise the facility was clean and well maintained. We had a great stay.
