We had a spacious room. I was a little worried as this place only had 1 review when I booked it, but it was just perfect. Would definitely recommend."

"Hakone Airu was an awesome place to stay and such a relaxing experience. The rooms are beautiful and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The private onsen on the balcony was honestly insane and easily the best part of the stay. It’s a really cool mix of traditional ryokan vibes with modern comfort. Just be warned it’s a steep climb up there from the station and it’s about 800m walk "

"We chose Fukuzumiro for one night during our honeymoon. We wanted a traditional experience, and we got it. Although very traditional, the building is clearly maintained very carefully. The staff is excellent and very very respectful. Koji-san served us really well. It made a huge difference in our experience. The dinner and breakfast are also awesome. "

"A lovely authentic Japanese experience. Very welcoming hosts. Food was plentiful and to a high standard just not to my Western palate. Very fish orientated. A menu would have been good to help identify some of the dishes. We loved getting dressed into our Yukatas. No Wi-Fi in the room but available in the lounge. Convenient for Hakone station."
