Ancient Zapotec ruins at Monte Albán tower above this UNESCO World Heritage city where local life thrives. The zócalo buzzes with mezcal sippers and vendors selling tlayudas and mole varieties. The Oaxaca Textile Museum showcases vibrant indigenous weaving traditions. The Guelaguetza festival brings regional dance in July, while year-round markets feature black clay pottery and alebrijes (fantastical wooden creatures). Hotel Boutique Naura Centro
"Beautiful hotel in a great spot -,loved the free coffee’s and snacks at the coffee shop in the lobby - plus free walking tour - great bed and sheets, aircon and shower powerfull"
Luuna de Jade
"We absolutely loved our stay at Luuna de Jade. Location was central and walking distance to most everything. The staff and service were top tier from check in to check out. We especially enjoyed the bar and restaurant, Mantis, where we were welcomed by Jocelyn with drinks, Alan with mezcal tastings and Yeshua with all the best recommendations. The hotel felt very cozy and accommodating, almost like a bed and breakfast, but way more vibey. We were especially impressed with the shower and its pressure. All in all a solid trip made better by Jade. Looking forward to our next visit."

Casa De Sierra Azul
"The property was great! Very good location, we could walk everywhere. It was clean and well maintained. The only thing I would say is that the service for the restaurant was SLOW. So if you’re looking for a quick bite to eat it, I wouldn’t suggest it. There was only us two eating there and it took over 30 minutes to get our appetizer. Other than that the hotel was a great stay!"
Cielo Zapoteco Confort Suites
"The place is in a safe area where is easy to walk to there zócalo (center if the city) and the markets. The staff was friendly and helpful and helped us call a cab to take us to the airport. This a good place to sleep only as it is not a regular hotel; although there is help 24hrs. I would definitely stay here again."
