Nagaike Shinsui Park
Lake #Yamanaka is the largest, with highest altitude but shallowest and closest to the base of Mount #Fuji out of the Fuji Five Lakes. It is a lot less developed compared to Lake Kawaguchi, with the locals found fishing on the shore during warmer months. The lake is around 8km in diameter, with walkways clearly marked. When I was here in April the weather was strangely cold and there were no cherry blossoms to be found. I thought I already missed the season but the guest house's owner advised me that they would bloom later in the month due to the high altitude of the area. I was in Japan for 10 days and this was the ONLY day that Mt Fuji was visible for a whole day, so I considered myself extremely lucky. When I reached the lake it was near sunset so I couldn't venture far off. As soon as I found this branch of sakura tree I knew the powerful #silhouette would work and this definitely was my favourite image of the whole trip.

Hidden down a few roads of this village you find the Oshino Hakkai Ponds. Their are 8 in total. These ponds flow with natural spring waters of Mt. Fuji... it is a lovely place. beautiful crystal clear waters in a quaint village.
